PUSD adopts school safety resolution BY CAROLYN DRYER Peoria Times Editor
The Peoria Unified School District Governing Board passed a resolution at its Dec. 12 regular meeting regarding mental health and school safety. PUSD Superintendent Linda Palles Thompson said, “Safety is paramount and is one of our main areas of focus in our district’s Strategic Plan. After winning their fourth state title in the past five season, the Centennial Coyotes are now aimed to battle in the GEICO State Championship Bowl at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 22 at Centennial High School, 14388 N. 79th Ave., Peoria.. The Coyotes (14-0) will host Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic High School (12-1) in a battle of state champions. Eastside Catholic won the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 3A state title Nov. 30. The GEICO Bowl Series features two matchups between state champions in their respective states. The other matchup, of St. Frances Academy, Baltimore, Md., will host Lee County High School, Leesburg, Ga. will be played on Dec. 22 at 5:30 p.m. on ESPNU. The see
