Residents have their say about Glen Lakes BY DARRELL JACKSON The Glendale Star Staff Writer
Approximately 120 people attended a special community meeting Nov. 19, where more than 30 residents addressed the recent closing of Glen Lakes Golf Course and tried to pressure council to save the course. Nearly two weeks after a building inspector closed the course due to buildings being unsafe to occupy, the residents spoke their minds on what they want to happen to the more than 50 years old nine-hole course. see

After Peoria recently announced a consensus to have the Bird scooter company supply proof that the scooters are worth allowing on city streets, Glendale has noticed the scooters have arrived within city limits. While there is no official hearing scheduled for a future council workshop or meeting, Ocotillo Councilmember Jamie Aldama has had contact with the company about the scooters. “The Bird company contacted me and asked if I would be willing to meet and discuss the concept of electric scooters,” Aldama said. “Most people I have spoken with feel the scooters have purpose and are overall okay with them.” Bird scooters started showing up on sidewalks throughout Glendale in late October, giving residents and visitors a new option to get around town. see
