GESD ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT MIKE BARRAGAN ELECTED TO ASBO INTERNATIONAL Cindy Segotta-Jones,BOARD OF DIRECTORS Superintendent
The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International announces Glendale Elementary School District (GESD) Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Auxiliary Services Mike Barragan was recently elected to its Board of Directors. Mr. Barragan ’ s three-year term will begin in January 2022.
The ASBO International Board of Directors guides the association in fulfilling its mission and advocating for the school business management profession. The organization ’ s members and affiliates represent approximately 30,000 school business professionals internationally.
“We are extremely proud of Mr. Barragan ’ s appointment to the ASBO International Board. He ’ s committed to promoting the highest standards of school business management, ” said GESD Superintendent Cindy SegottaJones. “In addition to extensive knowledge in K-12 finance, Mr. Barragan brings a diverse voice and a passion for advocacy to address significant financial and operational challenges facing public schools. He is very well-suited to represent GESD and the state of Arizona at the national and international level. ”
Mr. Barragan is a leader in school finance and business administration. He has served as the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Auxiliary Services at GESD for eight years. His previous experience includes board service as a past President of the Arizona Association of School Business Officials (AASBO).
"I look forward to being a voice for the ASBO International membership and more importantly for our students, said Barragan. "I will work to be inclusive, to address issues in a productive manner, and make decisions that strengthen the organization. " Mr. Barragan was recently featured in the Fall 2021 edition of The EDGE, the quarterly magazine of the Arizona Association of School Business Officials.
