OBITUARIES Rosemary Walker Lynch
Rosemary Lynch, 93, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2021. She leaves behind her son David and his wife Lisa, son John and his wife Barbara, and grandchildren Patrick and Jenna Lynch. Born in South Bend Indiana to Lonzo and Emily Walker, she was raised in Indianapolis with her four siblings. She was preceded in death by Robert, Lois, and Bud, and is survived by her youngest sister Joan O'Brien of Indianapolis, IN. She married John (Jack) Lynch in 1950, and was preceded by his passing in 2002.
Jack and Rosemary moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1952, then to Glendale in 1959, where Rosemary was one of the best examples of community service and leadership that the west valley has ever seen. She was active for over fifty years in the Glendale Women's Club, a founding/life member of the Glendale Historical Society, and over thirty years active in the Sun City Prides as a phase coordinator. She also worked for over twenty years as a special education teaching assistant at Glendale and Apollo high schools.
In addition to those organizations, she was involved with the Glendale Garden Club, PTA, Special Olympics, Block Watch, Saint Christopher's Church and many other endeavors over the years. She was all about the community. One of her proudest moments was being presented with Glendale's Ruth Byrne Historic Preservation Award in 2017.
Donations in memory of Rosemary can be made to the Glendale Women's Club (glendalewomansclub.com) and the Glendale Historical Society (glendalearizonahistoricalsociety.org).
A memorial service will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on 2021-06-22 at Saint Christopher's Church, 10233 West Peoria Avenue, Sun City, AZ, USA.
