ith the ongoing economic development the city of Litchfield Park is experiencing, along with its population growth, residents have raised concerns about the traffic congestion along major roadways. Litchfield Park dignitaries heard the concerns and have officially taken action in hopes of clearing up traffic throughout the city. Effective May 1, through truck traffic will no longer be allowed on Camelback
Road from 127th Avenue West to North Village Parkway. Trucks should plan to use Dysart Road or Northern Parkway. “The truck restrictions have been a city ordinance since 2020,” said Matthew Williams, Litchfield Park city manager. “What the truck ordinance did is basically restricted through trucks. What a through truck means is a truck that’s just passing through the city. Obviously, trucks that have pickups or deliveries in the city are still allowed. Just like if the truck business itself is located in the city, they’re still allowed. What is not allowed is trucks just driving
through the city to go to another location.” During the council meeting on March 16, Camelback Road from 127th Avenue west to North Village Parkway was annexed into the city of Litchfield Park. “The city truck route is Dysart Road, they can run up and down Dysart all day long, but other city streets they cannot be on unless they meet certain conditions,” Williams added. With the annexation, the city will be enforcing Litchfield Park City Code 12-6,
