ive Fields decor and design is a life-long dream come true by happy accident. When Dennis Rogers and Deb Baker of Insteel Construction were looking for new office space, Morgan’s Furniture across from Oak Bay High became available. The new space was perfectly located for their custom home and steel framing business, so they took it immediately. However, the large windows didn’t seem to work for office space and screamed for a retail store. Deb saw an immediate vision of the perfect design and home decor store. Happily, or begrudgingly, depending on who you might be, Dennis moved elsewhere in the building and Deb went about realizing her vision of creating an inspiring space filled with beautiful decor, gifts and furniture. Partnering with stylist and local painter Marieke Jones, they ended up
with the ultimate dream team. Five Fields is joined by Christine Van Rooyen, a furniture restorer and stylist, and Erin Rutten, an exceptional florist and stylist. Together, this talented group of ladies consistently brought changes up store to create an interesting visual experience. ecreation Oak Bay’s 2019 Fall Adult Hockey League is happening now, and there’s still room to register. From adults to old-timers, players of all abilities are welcome to join. Full hockey gear and CSA approved helmets are mandatory. Player stats and rankings are not recorded to support the non-competitive position of this league. Register as an individual or as a team! Players $210, Goalies $105, Team $3360. Here’s the scoop: fourteen officiated games; eight team league; players of all skills and abilities welcome; non-contact recreational hockey; full hockey gear and CSA approved helmets are mandatory.
