Head of School

HONORING

Today we celebrate Notre Dame’s OUR TIME to INSPIRE Strategic Plan and the Comprehensive Fundraising Campaign that supported its priorities. Nothing demonstrates the impact of OUR TIME to INSPIRE more dramatically than the contrast between our cover shot taken in December 2020 and the picture of our campus taken circa 2001 on the opening page.

State-of-the-art athletic fields, including two natural grass fields, two turf fields and a running track, now grace the front of the Academy’s campus as Burns Field, Schneider Family Track, Fitzgerald Fieldhouse at Launfal and the Gillin Terrace welcome athletes, parents and visitors.

The 30,000 square foot Riley Center for STEM Education, with its McNeill Gallery, Zozaya Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship Lab and Rudnay Design and Innovation Lab, anchors the southern section of the campus, restores the Sister Corinne Ritchie Rose Garden and shapes a lovely quad that links the completely renovated Mansion exterior with the Josephine Connelly Arts Center.

A new entrance from Godfrey Avenue, new campus signage, seasonal landscaping and 250 new trees complete a campus picture that embraces beauty and quality in all aspects.

Most importantly, these campus developments provide the physical context for the ongoing fulfillment of Notre Dame’s Catholic Mission, the Hallmarks of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and the Academy’s long-standing tradition of excellence in teaching.

Please join me in celebrating these milestones and in expressing our deepest gratitude to our very dedicated Campaign Chairs and all the many generous donors who embraced the call to inspire our young women - now and for many generations to come.

The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur would like to honor the extraordinary dedication and efforts of OUR TIME to INSPIRE Campaign Chairs: Pat and Helen Burns, Sister Helen Bellew, Barbara and Brian Riley, Judi and Matt Taylor, Andrew and Karen Willis, and Agnes and Don Gayhardt.

Over the past six years, this team, in collaboration with hundreds of donors and volunteers, has carved a path that led our community to this historic outcome. Because of each one of you, the lives of our students are forever transformed.
