to start to gel since many of them are playing together for the first time. “We are struggling with overall numbers we will have 15-20 kids,” explained Coach Drehle. “We will not have any seniors this season as we have a small senior class in our school. We have some talented kids in our junior and sophomore classes and will need them to mature as leaders. We are optimistic about this group. We are small in number, but we are athletic and have worked hard in the weight room. Our goal is to improve every week and be ready to go by the time we reach District play.” This year the schedule plays out nearly identical to last year’s with home and away reversed. Lincoln only has eight regular season games, as Slater dropped from the schedule as they move to 8-Man football this year. Coach Drehle and his assistant coaches: Mikel Drehle, Braden Drehle, Connor Spunaugle, Chris Sanders, Luke Goosen and Bill DeMalade will continue the philosophy that has made their program so successful, “Play to the strength of our kids. We will make the adjustments needed to put our kids and ourselves in the best position to compete and win.”
