We’ re in Peru! We finished off our last bit of time in the States with a dinner to share about our time in Costa Rica & speaking at several churches which seemed to be very excited & eager to partner with us. We ended up packing 24 suitcases, which took a bit of time weighing, repacking & so on. We checked with the airlines, and we were only allowed 5 free check-ins. We called & wrote corporate customer service, and we were told that they are “not in the business of moving people,” so they couldn’t give us a break on the cost of the luggage. We decided to drive to the Cincinnati airport & speak with someone in person. The lady we spoke with said to make sure our trip was documented as “missions”, and on the morning of departure, maybe they could help at the counter. We arrived at the airport on a very snowy morning to a group of dear friends to see us off. Everyone had been praying about our luggage situation for days. When we got to the counter, we asked the lady if she could help out. She called her supervisor, which was the same person we spoke to days before. She, in turn, called her supervisor, and he came over & then called his supervisor.
They were on the phone for some time. When they were finished we were given all 24 pieces for free!! This was a very substantial saving for us. After we finished there, we started walking to security and an airport employee stopped us & asked our names. We told him & he said that we were pre-checked & we didn’t have to go through normal security. We were able to just walk through a metal detector & not even take our shoes off:) It was this way all the way to Peru. We received all of our luggage & never had a single issue with Peruvian customs.
Now it begins!! Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
