Trump executive order strips federal workers of collective bargaining rights President Donald Trump issued an executive order (EO) March 27 stripping federal workers of their collective bargaining rights, citing a little-used provision of federal Labor law relating to national security issues. The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the nation’s largest federal workers union, which has challenged Trump’s previous executive orders in court, called the latest order retaliation and an attempt to silence federal workers.

Members of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) were joined by other unions, national and state Labor leaders and political and community allies as they called out President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s attacks on federal workers. They called out Trump’s illegal, union-busting executive order, issued March 27, cancelling the collective bargaining contracts of federal workers, a move that has already prompted AFGE and the AFL-CIO to file suit. Before the rally began, Redmond sat down for an interview with the Labor Tribune, discussing the administration’s actions, fighting back and why some union members voted for Trump.
