to The Hall’s second Summer Gala Concert at St. John’s Smith Square. This year, a record number of ensembles has been in action across the whole school. The music staff have worked with the boys to create ensembles by matching their musical interests and experience with others’, helping the boys hone their rhythmic and listening skills, encouraging team work and collaboration. In an ensemble, you are part of a team working towards a common goal. Everyone has to work effectively together to produce a sound people want to hear and to do justice to the notes a composer has written. If one person doesn’t pull their weight, it can affect the entire performance – so tonight we’ll see boys all pulling together and contributing to the best of their abilities. Happy reading!
