This beautiful Riad is just inside the doors to the Medina, on first impressions as with most of the properties in Marrakech you approach and are always amazed as to what you first see behind the door.
This Riad was no exception, decorated beautifully and full of Moroccan charm.
The Riad has only six rooms and they have all been decorated to a high standard, nothing has been over looked, a telephone for you incase you get lost while out in the Medina, music played at all times, robes, slippers, hairdryer, toiletries, iPod, earphones all you could want is here for you.
“This Riad was no exception, decorated beautifully and full of Moroccan charm.
”Up on the roof the views are amazing you can see forever, places you really would not know are there.
On a clear day you can see the Atlas Mountains, a must day trip for those adventurous types. Myself this time I opted for a Hammam washed within an inch of my life and then
massaged to say sorry, it was amazing.
I would recommend you have one of these at the start of your trip it helps to start a good suntan and your skin I guarantee, will feel so clean and soft and you will be glowing
Our last night in Marrakech and we really don’t want to
leave this lovely Riad, our stay here has been relaxing and the staff, have been very attentive. We would like to thank Wafaa the hotel manager for all her help and assistance and her amazing sense of humor. This Riad not only offers extremely comfortable rooms it also delivers great food. I would highly recommend this property, as the position of the Riad is just 5 minutes walk from the main square. We have been invited back again at the end of the year, as Maison MK is having a little facelift, why I really do not know as to me there was nothing to update the place is lovely, but I have been assured that I will see the change in the SPA and the suite upstairs when I return and I can’t wait. Thank you Maison MK see you again soon.

Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge is set in a perfect location just a 20-minute walk away from Chora, the main town in Mykonos. A gathering of white-cube buildings, crowded round the hilly coast and facing out to the turquoise waters of Alefkandra Harbour. The town is easy going and steeped in antiquity, the season has just began but come the summer it’s luxe bars attract moneyed club kids and superstar djs, this town is suitable for all ages I must add.
Mykonos is a great place to shop also as among its cobbled alleyways you’ll find great designer clothing and jewellery shops tucked in between shops selling traditional handicrafts. I found a beautiful shoe shop ‘ T ia Handmade’ where Tia the
owner herself makes beautiful designs of her own, all very fashionable now everywhere on-line.
If raving till the early hours is not for you there’s also plenty of cultural sights to take in. The 16th-century windmills, the whitewashed church of Panagia Paraportiani which is the former door to the city and A rmenistis lighthouse are just some of the city’s surviving ancient landmarks all worth taking a look at. Of course, you don’t have to do anything, with
“Where to start to describe our beautiful deluxe suite, we had a lovely terrace with sun loungers and our own private hot tub.
”Megali A mmos beach just 150 metres from the hotel you can sunbathe and people watch. This stunning beachside boutique hotel in Mykonos town offers sea-view serenity and contemporary coastal cool and is refreshingly chilled, Bill & Coo is the designer destination of choice for jet-set romantics. Its poolside lounge bar is a picture of glassy elegance, just made for cocktails and relaxation.
Where to start to describe our beautiful deluxe suite, we
had a lovely terrace with sun loungers and our own private hot tub, which I can honestly say we used to its full potential, every evening we would pour ourselves a glass of Greek wine and admire the Aegean sea from the warmth of the tub, before getting ready for our night
Bill & Coo’s gourmet restaurant is a total interactive sensory experience of sound, scent, vision, taste and touch with a mouthwatering mediterranean-cuisine inspired menu, crafted by chef Athinagoras Kostakos, this distinguished chef has created a mediterraneancuisine inspired menu of the freshest ingredients of the Mykonos island, he is such a great guy he’s funny charming, handsome and god he can cook too, watching him cook you can see that all he creates is with passion and with the use of fresh, seasonal and biological products from the blessed Greek land. Be prepared to not want to leave this beautiful five star resort.
The pool area is a classy combination of glass and wood-panel flooring surrounds the infinity pool, where you can unwind at the bar or on sun loungers and admire the view. This hotel is known for the odd celebrity to visit and we did see someone
but could not possibly say who....the squashy sofas and cool corian furniture are the perfect place from which to watch the sunset over a cocktail or two and look out for that celebrity. I have one top tip high heels and cobbles were never destined to get on well, so make sure you have some flat party shoes if you are venturing into town. Mykonos can be as layed back or dressy as you wish to be, but remember to take those sunnies as far as sunglasses are concerned, there’s no such thing as ‘too big’ in Mykonos.
To summarise Bill and Coo Suites and L ounge The best hotel I have ever stayed in, perfect service, perfect food, pefect location just absolutely perfect thank you so much for having us stay with you it was a dream.

mykonos is an island with immeasurable architectural and cultural wealth.
One of the most popular cosmopolitan resorts in the world, Mykonos excites visitors with its frequently photographed Chora, the whitewashed cube-shaped houses, dozens of magnificent beaches and the high quality of its tourism infrastructure. An island full of charming contradictions, it combines quaintness and tradition with eccentricity and a wild night life.
Tour the main town of Chora, lose yourself in the maze of back streets and you will understand why famous architects like Le Corbusier and Aris Konstantinidis sang praises of the “kingdom of simplicity and minimalism” of this island canvas.
Have your picture taken with the famous windmills in the background. Up until the early 20th century, the Aegean winds turned their sails as they milled the grains cultivated on the island that were then used to make the Mykonos rusks.
A unique complex of five churches and an aweinspiring remnant of the medieval architecture of the 16th century Cyclades, the church of Panagia
Paraportiani gleams in the sun to compose one of the most characteristic images of Mykonos.
Stop in at the Aegean Maritime Museum, an elegant residence in Tria Pigadia where visitors are welcomed by an old canon. The museum collection includes replicas of oarsmen, and wind- and steampowered ships from the prehistoric to the modern age.
R ight next to the Maritime Museum is “Lena’s House,” a typical example of a late 19th century Mykonos home, complete with furniture, cooking utensils, embroidery and decorative items.
Don’t miss a visit to the Mykonos Archaeological
Museum, where you will see pottery from the island of Rineia, and be impressed by the large vase, or pithos, decorated in relief with scenes from the Fall of Troy and the Trojan Horse. A sample of the traditional Aegean, with farmhouses and rustic construction, Ano Mera is an alternative for visitors to this cosmopolitan island.
Cosmopolitan and bohemian, Mykonos is a destination that will fascinate the most demanding traveller. You can visit it all year round, but it is during summer that the island really comes alive to the intense rhythm of its glamorous lifestyle.

TANS
PREP SKIN
Take a hot shower to open up pores and use a body scrub to slough off dead skin cells. Be sure to shave as well to create a smooth surface. You can lightly moisturise the driest parts of your face, elbows, knees, etc., but don’t slather on thick lotion - that creates a barrier between your skin and the spray tan.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT SHADE
A s a rule, select a shade that is two shades darker than your natural skin tone for a tan that is noticeable and natural.
Half the battle of getting a flawless spray tan is knowing what options are available. There are three major types of
Here are a few tips that cover all the basics on what to do pre, during and post-spray tan. Follow these easy tips, and you’ll have a glow so natural-looking that not even the pros will be able to tell it’s faux.
application: at home products, spray tan booths and spray tan professionals.
The best at-home options are gradual self-tanning lotions and mists. Regardless of what version you’re using, wait five to 10 minutes after you get out of the shower before applying and give yourself a full five minutes to dry.
THE BASICS OF MAINTENANCE:
1. Wear loose-fitting clothes and flip flops post-spray tan.
2 . Don’t come into contact with water for 12 hours.
3. Wait one to two days before shaving and stay away from scrubs and exfoliators. Plus, moisturise daily.
4. If you have lovely white sheets, change them out for a darker color the first night after your tan
Now, should you end up with a few patches of orange skin, don’t panic. For small patches and streaks, gently exfoliate with hot water and a body scrub. I recommend an at home concoction of lemon juice and brown sugar; the acid from the lemon fades the tan and the brown sugar gently removes skin and moisturises.
as a rule, select a shade that is two shades darker than your natural skin tone for a tan that is noticeable and natural.
I have also been exploring Asos as its such a great site for buying and trying no hassle, if you don’t like it or it doesn’t fit just call them and they pick it up. So travelling light again I took a pair of my old faithful Levi 501’s cut downs which can be worn with everything, flats, flip-flops I have found a lovely ivory silk shirt in Mango bargain £49.99 worn with my Levis and a belt will be a perfect outfit for the evening and my nude Valentino ballerina Rock Studs, which teamed with my black Jamie jeans from Top Shop are perfect to travel in with a blazer.
Fashion
I must confess I have had a couple of quickie shopping trips to Bluewater to refresh my wardrobe and have come across some nice little finds on my travels.
I came across a lovely little find, an Asos white off the shoulder dress for around the pool or at the bar in the evening if I don’t feel I want to get changed
These cute white cut off shorts from Top Shop, I bought these extra large in fact a size 12 as I could not find low rise anywhere, everywhere you go high waisted are back in fashion and this does nothing for me, at all just makes my fat belly look fatter, these I thought were a bargain only £24, team these with a nice tan belt and I can mix this with any T shirt or top.
Zara have always got some great pieces in for the evening, I have found a lovely red off the shoulder jumpsuit £49.99 perfect with flats it covers your legs if its breezy but the evenings are really warm at the moment so I have my shoulders and arms free to keep comfortably cool.

Finding up to the minute pieces of jewellery can be difficult, not normally a girl to wear much other than my wedding ring and watch I am always looking for the twist of classic but up to the minute and I have found it, the wonderful Jane Kønig sent me two beautiful chains one with pretty love tags and the other with my star sign they are beautiful and with the unusual clasps making them just that little more quirky I love them.
Jane K ønig in 1989 Jane K ønig graduated from the danish design academy as a clothing designer with accessories as an important part of her expression. Since then, she has been designing jewellery and accessories and is now working full time as a goldsmith.
She’s freely mixing old, antique objects such as roses made of chorale, antique
precious stones, tortoise shell and ivory and other unique stuff with modern materials and design and thus creates unexpected meetings.
Significant of her style is also the clash between everyday objects and precious materials, badges with strong symbols executed in precious metal and diamonds, or series of bone and horn e.g.
Jane gets her inspiration on her numerous travels, where she also finds local materials and objects, purchase foreign strange matter and stuff in order to unity them with her own scandinavian tradition later on.

Pied à Terre
We were invited along to the amazing Pied à Terre restaurant in Charlotte Street. Having heard such lovely things about the place and was delighted when David Moore, founding Director and the longstanding creative force behind Pied à Terre said we could come along and sample the exceptional gourmet food.
On arrival we was shown to our table and offered a aperitif, Gin Martini’s with a twist and they were delicious. We decided to try one of the Tasting Menu’s, and asked if the wine could be chosen for us also to compliment each course and it was perfect, from Greek, Chilean and Australian wines followed by another Greek desert wine, it just kept on flowing and every course was mouth watering.
The menu was amazing, the food served pipping

The perfectGREEK SALAD
SERVES
4
INGREDIENTS
1/2 red onion
• 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
6 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
• 10 smallish, sweet tomatoes
• 1/2 tsp caster sugar (optional)
• 1 cucumber, chilled
• 25 kalamata olives, preferably stone-in
• 1 tbsp capers, drained (or rinsed if packed in salt)
• 1 tsp ouzo or pastis (optional)
• 3 sprigs of fresh oregano, leaves picked and roughly chopped, or a generous pinch of dried oregano
150g feta
DIRECTIONS
Slice the onion as thinly as possible. Whisk the vinegar with half the oil and stir into the onion. Leave to soak for at least 20 minutes, but a few hours won’t do any harm.
Cut the tomatoes into generously bite-sized chunks, sprinkle with the caster sugar (if using) and a good pinch of salt, and leave for 10 minutes. When ready to serve, roughly chop the cucumber into chunks and arrange on a platter. Add the tomatoes, onions (reserving any soaking liquid), olives and capers. Whisk the rest of the oil into any liquid remaining in the onion bowl, along with the ouzo, if using, then use this to dress the salad, along with most of the oregano.
Crumble or break the feta on top, and sprinkle with the remaining oregano to serve.

JUNE gardening tips
GENERAL TASKS AND GARDEN MAINTENANCE
A long with all the flourish and splendour this month, weeds are thriving too, so keep on top of the situation; hoe on warm days and leave them on the surface to wither and die in the sun.
A nother constant task around the garden at this time of year is deadheading
Avoid using tap water, however, for lime-hating plants such as camelliasthey will not thank you for it!
“ ”
- remove spent flowers from containers, pots, hanging baskets, beds and borders and feed them all occasionally with liquid feed. Deadheading diverts energy from producing seed into producing new flowers... so is a good thing all round.
Theoretically we should be home and dry now weather-wise, but be prepared Brownie-style in case of a late frost - keep vulnerable plants and new shoots protected at night if frost is forecast and don’t be tempted to put out your really tender plants out until the middle of the month
unless the weather changes dramatically.
If it’s dry, attack ground elder, lords and ladies and the like with systemic weed killer painted onto the leaves, and trail tips of bindweed into jam jars full of the same. Remember systemic weed killers are indiscriminate and will kill anything they contact.
Water is a precious commodity – instigate good practices such as using kitchen and bath water (as long as it is neither too dirty, greasy nor full of detergent) for watering, collect
The key to successful planting, whether it be a shrub, tree, perennial or bedding plant is to water in well.
“ ”rainwater and investigate ways to recycle water for your irrigation. Avoid using tap water, however, for lime-hating plants such as camellias - they will not thank you for it! Automatic watering systems are economical with water, as well as convenient, so consider installing one sooner rather than later.
Watering is essential once the weather is drier and
warmer - water thoroughly once or twice a week rather than little and often (containers and hanging baskets need watering every day and sometimes even twice a day if it is hot and windy) - this encourages plants to put down roots in search of water rather than coming up to the surface. For large shrubs or trees, leave a hose trickling around the base for an hour - hedges are best watered with a trickle hose (a length of old hose punctured with little holes) left running for an hour or so.
The key to successful planting, whether it be a shrub, tree, perennial or bedding plant is to water in well. Beforehand, soak the
rootball in a bucket until no air bubbles come to the surface, dig the planting hole, fill with water and allow to drain away. Place the plant in the hole, fill with soil, firm gently and water with a watering canthis will give the plant a huge advantage over one planted with a dry rootball in a dry hole and watered only on the surface.
Carry on removing moss and weeds from paths, terraces and drives and keep an eye out for pests around the garden. Try to keep the use of chemical controls to a minimum - they may kill off pests, but they also kill off the beneficial insects that prey on them such as ladybirds and hoverfly larvae.
THE ENEMY - SLUGS, SNAILS, CATERPILLARS, APHIDS...
C ontinue the campaign against slugs and snails. They love the young shoots of delphiniums and the like, so use pet-friendly slug pellets, drench the ground around hostas with liquid slug killer to exterminate slugs below the surface or invest in a biological control (this employs nematodes to deliver a slug-lethal bacterial infection). Keep an eye out for snails and pick them off... what you do with them is up to you. Birds are your friends here - flat stones artfully located are useful accessories for birds to practise their snail catching techniques.
C aterpillar and aphid infestations can be dealt with by hand if caught early enough, but should the situation veer out of control you will have to resort to insecticides or grin and bear it! Don’t forget aphids and other sap-sucking insects can transmit viruses so don’t give in to the sympathy vote.
Our guide to GROWING HERBS in the kitchen or outside
Few things will step up your cooking quite like having fresh herbs to hand, having the essentials when they’re at their seasonal best is a great way to spice up your cooking.
Herbs don’t need to be grown in a garden, almost any kitchen can accommodate pots or window boxes, and with the right care and attention, your herbs will thrive. Here are a few tips and tricks you need to take your kitchen garden to the next level, whether in side or out.
Growing anything from seed is a bit of a task for me. For this reason, I would suggest it best to go easy on yourself and start
by planting pre-potted herbs. You can get them in garden centres and most supermarkets, and they’ll save you loads of time and energy and if you need advise there is always someone on hand to advise you.
Once you have chosen you herbs now for the pots, There are a few options when it comes to what to keep your herbs in: pots, window boxes and grow bags. Whichever you pick,
the most important thing is drainage, if your herbs can’t drain properly, they will drown.
L ots of plastic window boxes have a reservoir at the bottom for drainage. Grow bags are quite useful as well, if less pretty. Pots have the added benefit of being portable so they can be easily moved around the house through the seasons. In the winter, woodier herbs can be left outside but they should be protected from frost with garden fleece.
Terracotta pots are great because they’re heavy and porous, which means they will be stable, won’t suffocate the soil, and they also look great. They do, however, conduct heat and therefore dry up very quickly, so always keep an eye on them.
Water your herbs every day. In summer months, it’s better to do this in the evening rather than during the full heat of the day. If using a pot, sit it on a plate or saucer, you can pour water into it and the soil will soak it up.
Very coarse compost specifically made for aiding drainage in small pots and windowboxes is available (or you can make your own by mixing ordinary compost with some gravel).
Keep your herbs well
trimmed to stop them from producing flowers in an attempt to reproduce, thereby affecting the quality of the leaves. Herbs often need a great deal of light to remain healthy, a windowsill is a good spot for your pots.
L ast but not least, give them the space to breathe and grow out, do not overcrowd your herbs or they will quickly die.
We find soft herbs – basil, chives, marjoram, coriander, and so on – are the ones that will have the biggest effect you can taste when they’re home-grown and used fresh.
Soft herbs are delicate, which affects how they’re grown and used. They need care and attention when growing, and are usually only added to dishes at the end of the cooking process, or simply folded through salads, so as not to ruin their structure and subtle flavours.
space
to
breathe and grow out, do not overcrowd your herbs or they will quickly die.
“ ” Give them the
Woody herbs – thyme, rosemary, sage – tend to benefit from a hot, dry location. They will generally survive winter well, though flourishing less than they would in the spring and summer. Even though these herbs are resilient, they need water too – the lower, woodier branches can get hard and dry out often.
Remember the golden rules for success: keep them watered, make sure they are able to drain, give each plant enough space to breathe, and prune them regularly. That’s it!
