SAVE OUR WATER The Western Cape is currently in the middle of severe drought crisis with VERY low dam levels. We are facing ‘day zero’ (when the taps are switched off), and the City of Cape Town has implemented level 6 water restrictions.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN IN A NUTSHELL? 1.

Don’t drink our tap water. Buy your water.

2.

The average person uses about 35 litres of water a day simply in the loo. On average, a toilet flush

consumes between 9 and 15 litres of water.

Only flush when necessary. It’s icky but it’s true: If it’s yellow let it mellow If it’s brown, flush it down.

3.

Did you know? An average bath consumes between 60 and 90 litres of water.

Rather take a shower please.

Welcome to two-minute showers!

5.

Collect shower water and reuse it to flush the toilet.

6.

Use your towel more than once.

7.

Don’t leave the tap running while you brush your teeth, soap up or shave. Turn off the tap during

Rewearing clothing also saves water.
