Regeneration Plans The London borough of Newham along with developer Linkcity, are leading on the delivery of a significant town centre regeneration project in London’s Canning Town. Forming part of the £3.7 billion Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Programme, Hallsville Quarter is the new £600 million town centre that is being created to establish a lasting legacy for Canning Town The regeneration focused on:
Improving ease of travel within the area, by creating two new streets
Boosting security and character with lighting and street furniture
Building new amenities, including leisure facilities and public services
Expanding the town centre and redeveloping Rathbone Market
Regenerating of Custom House with the Elizabeth Line now open
Creating distinct, unique residential areas
Developing parks and other environmental / natural areas
Bringing 10,000 new homes to Canning Town
Hallsville Quarter and Canning Town Hallsville Quarter is an exciting new development that reflects the spirit of change in Canning Town. It’s a five-phase development, with an enviable location directly next to Canning Town station – which makes it instantly appealing to commuters. In keeping with the area’s regeneration efforts, the development aims to provide not only new homes, but additional shops and leisure facilities.

349 new homes (160 apartments for private sale, 55 affordable apartments, 134 private rented sector homes) and a new 296 bedrooms Ibis Hotel. At the heart of the residential scheme for Phases 1 and 2 is the courtyard garden of 5,700 sq m. Over 4,000m2 of new restaurants, shops and leisure spaces have also been delivered to activate the public realm and create a vibrant new town centre.
620 new homes including 50 extra care homes as well as 118,404 sq ft of retail, leisure, offices and an NHS health centre.
Once all five phases are complete, Hallsville Quarter will form part of the £3.7bn regeneration project delivering 1,100 homes and over 30,000m2 of leisure retail space. The developers, Link City, have been working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham, and also working closely with residents and businesses alike to create an attractive, secure environment for the local community.
