Fundraising Brochure & 2022 Annual Report
Working Today To Change Tomorrow
From The President Our Mission: To provide a helping hand to those in the community, at risk youth, and the medically underserved through financial, educational, renovation, food, clothing, or counseling assistance. A blessing, a helping hand, one hand at a time. This year our focus is on increasing the amount of contributions available for program support. To accomplish this, we are planning new fundraisers and applications will be submitted for eligible grants. Our goal is to triple our past charitable efforts across all divisions. In 2022, we delivered food and bus passes to seven schools, restocked our clothing closet, and took the opportunity to decide which fundraising events were the best fit for our organization and our donors. In 2023, we’ve already provided food and bus passes to our seven schools amounting to 50% of the 2022 assistance. And we have plans to continue that growth in delivery and growth within all of our divisions, as well. Let’s get started. We pride ourselves in helping our community and making a difference. We are proud to say that on average 75% of your donations serve our community, directly.
We provide food and clothing to our community all year long. Host an annual clothing giveaway in the summer (where we’ve given away over 8000 items), deliver food, bus passes, and clothing to local schools throughout the school year, and provide assistance to those with a medical crisis. Our organization provides students with educational and financial gifts, host a Cash Flow game day to teach financial literacy, and provide grants to local educators. Over the past decade we’ve blessed the community with over $30,000 in cash, gift cards, supplies, food, clothing, and more. All because of you! Because of you we’ve touched more than 1000 in the community and we want to do more in 202324. Please help us! Each of our divisions are detailed in the following report.
Dorinda Geans-Jay, CSSBB, PMP YHH President and Chairman
Our Divisions Food and Clothing Division Hosts an annual food and clothing giveaway while also delivering food and bus passes to eight schools throughout the school year. Our 2023-24 goal is to triple the number of schools we impact, increase the assistance given to those schools, and increase our giveaway’s to biannually.
Grant Division Provides grants to deserving community members and educators that have invested time, money, and dedication in their schools, communities, and children. Our 2023-24 goal is to provide grants to at least one impactful member in the community representing each of our divisions.
Medical Division Provides medical expense assistance to those in need of medical care and unable to cover their own expenses. Also, we will focus on the rising mental health crisis by helping the underinsured pay for the appropriate behavioral health counseling. Our 2023-24 goal is to create and publish our updated donation request application and create an annual review board while providing assistance to those in need.
Our Divisions Mentoring/Education Division Provides mentors and educational workshops concentrating on educating underserved youth on topics usually absent from traditional school curriculums. Our 2023-24 goal is to plan and host the 2024 Teen Financial Literacy Workshop, providing financial education in a fun-filled event setting. Our goal is to award a scholarship to one of the workshop attendees.
Small Business Division Provides small businesses with planning, advertising, and financial assistance. Our 2023-24 goal is to create and publish our updated donation request application, provide advertising assistance to local businesses, and create an annual review board.
Shelter Division Provides financial assistance to those struggling to maintain their household and/ or renovation expenses. Our 2023-24 goal is to acquire and begin to build a Tiny Home Community provided to young adults (at a minimal rate) that are enrolled at a local collegiate institution but also struggling to cover all expenses. We also plan to purchase local residential properties near our partnering schools, renovate those homes and offer them at a discount rate to educators at those schools.
