THE OUTDOOR IN COLLECTION Designed by Suzanne Tick for Luum Textiles

Outdoor In by Suzanne Tick offers four bleach-cleanable performance textiles for indoor-outdoor spaces in hospitality, higher education and corporate environments—bringing new, pivotal products to these hybrid spaces. Showcasing forward-thinking textile design, Outdoor In utilizes high-UV fibers, new coated technology and recycled polyester yarns to enhance user experience and flexibility in both the interior and exterior. New textures and patterns in this collection extend the Luum line, ranging from weaverly and sophisticated to organic and playful. The pattern work expresses themes of distortion and reflection, referencing both digital and analog processes and showing the new ways in which we negotiate virtual and in-person communication. As we rethink the ways life, work and communication influence design, outdoor accessibility continues to prove a major influence in design equity. Whether indoors or outdoors, walls, panels, screens and seating can be re-adjusted in real time throughout the day with ease, unlocking the full creativity within.

WAVEFIELD Wavefield is a multicolor, mid-scale organic pattern for upholstery in indoor-outdoor spaces. Discovered through a Tick Studio brainstorming session, Wavefield’s pattern was developed by layering fluted glass over prints of geometric artwork in repeat. The resulting pattern, when woven, is a deep, textural design that warps, undulates, and transforms—like new methods of communication in shifting environments. Wavefield’s recycled UV fibers are bleach-cleanable and reach 1,200 hours of lightfastness, providing performance attributes to indoor-outdoor spaces, atriums, hospitality and corporate environments.

TWISTED TWEED Twisted Tweed brings recycled polyester fibers together in a simple, balanced structure suitable for upholstery, wrapped wall, panels and screens. With its bleach cleanable barberpole yarns, which were custom colored and twisted to our specifications, Twisted Tweed provides a dynamic backdrop for vivid pops of colorful boucle. Available in 19 colors, Twisted Tweed encompasses a broad range of neutrals and sophisticated colors in a variety of saturation levels.

7

GRATICULE Graticule is a performance coated direct glue wall covering that alludes to the digital landscape through a slub-like jacquard weaving process. Using a polyester ground and an olefin coating, Graticule boasts enhanced cleanability, ink and stain resistance and nearly seamless wall installation. The pattern’s multi-color pixellation effect clusters against the pattern’s solid background, providing contrast to Graticule’s smooth hand, and providing visual texture to a space.

MEGAPIXEL Designed on Tick Studio’s loom using melange yarns and a striated weft, Megapixel is Luum’s first indoor-outdoor chenille textile. Featuring a chunky, tactile woven surface, Megapixel’s handmade sensibility is paired with high UV and bleach cleanable fibers, which maintains the ideal performance qualities for contemporary environments. Inspired by traditional fiber techniques like cording, each yarn in Megapixel interacts to display an interwoven visual effect that is highly dimensional and reaches 2,000 hours of lightfastness. The 12 colorways in this palette vary in depth and shade, providing an option to suit a variety of applications.

BIODEGRADABLE POLYESTER In 2021, Luum proudly launched Grid State and Ecotone: the contract industry’s first and second recycled, biodegradable polyester textiles. These styles advance the conversation around sustainability, lessen impact on the environment and provide more design solutions with their bleach-cleanable and multipurpose-use properties. Recycled polyester fibers are enhanced with a bio-catalyst additive at the molecular level, accelerating the polyester’s ability to biodegrade in anaerobic environments. When the product reaches landfill, the additive attracts microorganisms and allows them to begin breaking down the polymer chains. After approximately 3.5 years, biodegradation is complete and only naturally occurring elements remain.

RENEWABLE RESOURCES As both weavers and designers, we experiment with yarns to achieve new and exciting surfaces not seen before. Wool and wool-blend textiles, which make up 21% of the Luum collection, demonstrate the wide range of surfaces that can be achieved through the twist of a yarn or the manipulation of weave structure. These technical explorations show how wool fibers can be utilized in a variety of end uses and aesthetic effects. Mitered’s materiality shifts our perspective toward sustainable and local materials through the use of two unique yarns: domestic wool and recycled cotton. Displayed to the right is the transition point where one Mitered colorway transitions to the next on the loom. In addition to sustainable yarn origins, Mitered’s custom planted warp is highly unique. Every warp color is precisely laid out in order to yield the final woven pattern.

RECYCLED FIBERS Utilizing recycled polyester, we create classic textures like Actuate, Digi Tweed, Heather Tech and Percept. This grouping or 91 skus known as Color Kit is a resource for color in design-driven, high-performance textiles. Muted and soft, rich and saturated, this multi-purpose collection offers coordinates and unexpected contemporary hues for palettes in a variety of project types. All textiles are applicable for the performance needs of upholstery, panels, screens and acoustical wrapped walls. 55% of the Luum line contains recycled fibers. Color Kit’s recycled polyester content is derived from plastic bottles that are repolymerized into polyester pellets, melted down, and then extruded into filament fibers. In-depth knowledge of fiber techniques allows us to create variety of aesthetic effects using custom fiber texturization, luster levels, and twisting and dyeing methods.

THE OBSCURA COLLECTION Designed by Suzanne Tick for Skyline Design

The Obscura collection—from the Latin word for a darkened enclosure—is an innovative PVC-free polyester film system for use on new and existing architectural glass, plexiglass and steel surfaces. Applied in horizontal bands, Obscura provides privacy in incremental dimensions at various heights in a range of refined, tinted neutrals. Obscura offers an elegant design solution for minimal and specific coverage with two patterns, Horizon and Perspective, that will satisfy building codes which increasingly require glass with markings, particularly in healthcare and corporate environments. Strengthening the qualities of natural light with quiet ombres and pattern breaks, Suzanne Tick captures fleeting visual moments and translates them for specific uses, shaping the user experience for a variety of settings. The result is both airy and spatial, providing privacy when needed in a sustainable, cost effective approach. This collection is made for film application on architectural glass, plexi, and steel in four sizes that can be used to solve for varying privacy needs. Patterns are available in heights of 8”, 16”, 24”, and 36” in ready-to-install film on rolls. 19

HORIZON Horizon employs a subtle ombre that builds into a fused, distinct horizon line; anchoring the viewer while the ombre works to obscure specific areas behind it.

PERSPECTIVE Perspective depicts a strong horizontal ombre pattern with a vertical negative-space linear motif running across its width, amplifying the viewer’s sense of natural light refraction.

OBSCURA COLORGRAPH™ Patterns are offered in 3 neutral colorways, with additional options from an extensive color palette inspired by the hues of the natural world. The ColorGraph™ is available for wider customization and environmental branding opportunities. 21

AFTERGLOW GLASSBOARDS Designed by Suzanne Tick for Skyline Design

Afterglow Glassboards by Suzanne Tick feature a bold accent stripe on a smooth, writable, glass surface. Inspired by the natural phenomenon of atmospheric inversion and quiet dappled light shadows seen through panes of glass and contemporary glassware. Suzanne Tick developed 6 distinct color stripes that speak to such transitions of light, atmosphere, and visual effects, particularly for branding in corporate and education environments.

THE META FIRMA COLLECTION Designed by Suzanne Tick for Tarkett

The Earth gives form to our physical world, connecting and shaping how we relate to one another in a space. The Meta Firma Collection by Suzanne Tick explores textures and colors derived from organic land forms and the celestial atmosphere, helping us feel rooted in the simplicity of being. By evoking feelings of stability and calm, the Meta Firma Collection’s soft surface patterns and coordinating LVT stimulate the senses through visual tactility and provide a sense of connection to nature. 27

SKYWARD Gazing at a blanket of stars in the black of night brings a sense of wonder and discovery. While these celestial objects are not actually fixed in the sky, their movement is imperceptible, giving us comfort in their consistency and awe in their splendor. This translation of the obscured night sky focuses upward to the unbounded galaxies. 29

EARTHBOUND Through the millennia, Earth’s landscapes become layered and weathered before regenerating once again. From anywhere on the planet, we are rooted in this resilience and Earth’s certain foundation beneath our feet. No matter how far we wander, every path grounds us with renewed strength and leads us to community. 31

ANALOG FIELD LVT In a technical, yet whimsical approach, this digitally printed LVT explores the continuity of the atmosphere, alongside its irregularities. Analog Field seeks to temper and balance: Light with dark. Earth with sky. Permanence with evolution.
