For more than 30 years, Niesmann+Bischoff has been building the most innovative motorhomes around – both in terms of technology and design.

We set out to shape the industry right from the beginning with our ‘Clou’, our very first model. Our most recent idea was to build a smaller, lighter, more agile motorhome for an active, spontaneous target audience. But, at the same time, we wanted to create something new. Something unlike any other.

INTEGRATED DESIGN. By moving the B-pillar much further back and making a flush transition between windscreen and skylight, the Smove’s Fiat driving cabin seems to flow into a single unit. This integrated look is further enhanced by the sleek lines of the vehicle and its very low clearance.

DYNAMIC BRAND VISION. Both sportiness and agility have always been in Niesmann+Bischoff’s DNA. With our optional ClouLine design at the front and with the vehicle’s height appearing less than it actually is, the Smove epitomises this claim; and adorned with the well-known family face, the Smove lines up perfectly alongside Arto and Flair.

THREE-DIMENSIONALLY DESIGNED REAR SECTION. The rear of the Smove incorporates all technical components such as tail lights, camera and diffuser. Structural features such as the sills and roof are absorbed into the rear, which further enhances the three-dimensional look.

TRAVEL MEANS FREEDOM: INSIDE AND OUT. That feeling of boundless freedom is not only there while driving in the Smove, but also while relaxing in the living room. The ingenious space concept using all-round ceiling cupboards that seamlessly cross the B-pillars makes the room appear much larger and gives the feeling of living in a liner. The large side and roof windows also play their part, allowing lots of light to stream into the cosy living room. So come on in, relax â&#x20AC;&#x201C; what are you waiting for?

HERE IT’S ALL ABOUT FEELING GOOD. What’s the difference between two comfortable, ergonomic driver’s and passenger seats and two cosy recliners? Exactly 180 degrees, because the optional SKA seats in the Smove can be whichever you want. As driving seats, they offer you support on long journeys and can be adjusted for the specific needs of every part of your body.

When you feel the need to take a break and relax, simply spin the seat 180 degrees around until it locks in place, and rest your legs comfortably on the sofa in front of you. Now just fold your arms behind your head and enjoy a relaxing evening in front of the TV located straight ahead.

The perfect place to show off the full range of your culinary repertoire – whether sautéing, frying, boiling, blanching, steaming or poaching, or even defrosting – and the spacious refrigerator with integrated freezer and large cooling drawer is within easy reach, too.

ROTATION The rotatable corner washbasin disappears completely into the wall when not required, making more space for the largest shower in this vehicle class. So enjoy a special freedom of movement while showering, at the same time protecting the vanity unit and mirror against splashes.

Your Smove bathroom offers more space and facilities than you would expect in such a compact motorhome. ‘Clou’ was our very first model and means highlight, and there are plenty of ‘clous’ here, making the room a true quickchange artist. Every single component is, of course, made from top-quality materials that are not only pleasing to the eye, but are also very durable. These are strikingly set off by the effective backlighting in the shower fitting.

The swivel toilet can be slid out with a simple flick of the wrist; and when it is not needed, it can be discreetly and compactly tucked behind the folding door.

OTHERS CAN ONLY DREAM OF SO MUCH STORAGE SPACE. We have found space in places where others have not even thought of looking. So, the separate bedroom is not only the perfect retreat for a restful night and undisturbed sleep. Your dresses, tops, skirts, trousers, T-shirts, swimming shorts, sun hats, shoes, sandals, jackets, wetsuits, accessories, books and magazines can be nicely packed away here, too.

HIGH-QUALITY FINISHES. Scratch-resistant 3D film gives the interior a high-­ quality imitation-wood look.

We are constantly developing new ideas to make our vehicles even better. Sometimes we return to old inspiration: we only use the very best materials for our interior furnishings.

METAL FITTINGS AND HINGES. A sturdy door with high-quality fittings separates the bedroom and bathroom from the living area. All the key fittings and hinges in the Smove are made of metal – simply so they will close securely and never wear out.

VINYL COATING. The floor is particularly robust thanks to its vinyl coating with a wooden look and structure.

PUSH TO OPEN. Our push-to-open latches mean many of the doors donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t need knobs, which can loosen with frequent pulling and pushing. The upper cabinets, with the latest hydraulic lifting technology, open and close quietly and smoothly.

UPHOLSTERY. 50,000 abrasion cycles testify to the long lifespan of the covers while the three-layer foam concept guarantees comfort when sitting on the sofa.

TRAVEL AND FEEL AS IF YOU ARE DRIVING A CAR. We want your holiday to begin right from the first kilometre. So we have built many technical ‘clous’ into the Smove which provide unprecedented dynamic handling. Not an everyday thing for a motorhome, of course, but it is for us.

TORSIONAL RIGIDITY. The Smove has up to 30 % higher torsional rigidity compared to conventional construction frames.

Firstly, this is thanks to its extra-stable underfloor, a 42-mm-thick double-layered aluminium sandwich base plate that is bolted and glued to the AL-KO low frame. Secondly, specially reinforced B-pillars provide a solid connection between body and cab. These ‘clous’ can be clearly felt in its excellent handling characteristics and pleasant running smoothness.

18" ALLOY WHEELS. The optional 18" alloy wheels including wheel spa­ cer give the Smove an even more dynamic appearance. They also absorb vibrations and bumps much better, giving you a noticeably smoother ride.

LONG WHEELBASE. The extra-long wheelbase and corresponding shorter overhang ensure driving safety and comfort.

WATER TANKS. We have placed the water tanks at the lowest point in the double floor, where they help to further improve the driving dynamics of the Smove.

AL-KO LOW FRAME. The standard basis for the construction of the Smove is an AL-KO low frame. It has a lightweight construction and ensures ideal weight distribution.

WHEN IT COMES TO SERVICE, YOU’RE ALWAYS IN THE RIGHT PLACE WITH US. Our motorhomes are extremely service-friendly. You will always find gas bottles, water tanks, the battery and service hatch for grey water and electricity in exactly the right place. That is, where you need them.

CENTRAL SERVICE COMPARTMENT. Drain valves, pressure water pump, external power supply, optional city water connection as well as filling connections for water and the optional gas tank – here, you find everything centrally and discreetly hidden away behind the apron flap.

GAS TANK. The optional 50-litre gas tank is unique in a low-­ profile and can be used either additionally or alternatively to the gas bottles.

WATER CAPACITY. The large 140-litre water tank can be optionally upgraded with a 60-litre auxiliary tank. Both tanks are located in the heated base well and are perfectly insulated even in sub-zero temperatures.

STORAGE SPACE BOX. The useful optional storage space box behind the apron is the perfect storage place for power cords, water hoses and hand tools.

GAS BOTTLE BOX. The gas bottle box offers ample space for two gas bottles of up to 11 kg each.

SLIDING DOOR. The optional space-saving electric sliding door can be opened easily with its remote control.

REAR GARAGE. The spacious rear garage is 1.14 metres tall, offering ample space for bicycles, surfboards and other bulky items which can be stored safely using the standard lashing rails.

VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The entire electrical system is centrally located and easily accessible in the rear garage.

UNDERFLOOR AIR CONDITIONING. The optional underfloor air conditioning system is unique for a low-profile. It ensures a low centre of gravity and avoids detracting from the interior.

A BIG STEP FOR WARM FEET. The Smove always keeps you well prepared even on those cold days on holidays or on your winter break.

Whether you choose the standard Truma air heating or the optional Alde hot water heating – with our well-thought-out, holistic heating concept, you can enjoy a cosy warm holiday in your Smove even when temperatures are freezing outside.

Holistic means that all three components – effective heating system, an avoidiance of cold spots and our sophisticated air circulation – give you very straightforward benefits: like warm feet, for example.

DOUBLE FLOOR. Hot air outlets or convectors in the double floor protect all fixtures and fittings from the cold. At the same time, the double floor functions as a heat store and transfers the heat to the interior floor, similar to domestic floor heating. Floor heating is also available in combination with the optional hot water heating system.

HEATING CENTRE. The heating is concentrated precisely where the heat is needed most: in the seating area of the living space.

AIRFLOW. The additional rear walls behind the cabinets and cushions let the air circulate behind the furniture and distribute the heat from the radiator throughout the entire room.

DOUBLE-LAYERED ALUMINIUM. A GOOD IDEA THAT WE HAVE IMPROVED. Winter holidays – sometimes you get caught cold by the weather, or caught in a sweat. We have made sure the temperature always feels just right on your holiday – at least in your Smove. We have been making wall panels from double-layered aluminium for more than 30 years and have been regularly improving the material ever since.

The structure is simple: aluminium on the outside, styrofoam on the inside. In this composition, the panels are virtually non-conductive – heat and cold have to stay outside, and to ensure all-round insulation, we don’t just use this material in the rear and side panels, but also in the double floor and in the garage doors. Even with all this insulation, of course we’ll keep our fingers crossed for good weather for you.

SANDWICH PRINCIPLE. We use aluminium on the outside and styrofoam on the inside using the sandwich principle, which means that the walls conduct neither heat nor cold.

INSULATED TRANSITIONS. The transition from the side wall to the roof is free of cold spots thanks to a double-layered aluminium sandwich structure.

SPORTY SIDE SKIRTS. The elaborately shaped side skirts made of GRP profiles give the Smove a sporty look on the outside.

They cover the chassis frame as well as providing service and storage compartments.

WHEREVER THE JOURNEYâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;S HEADING: YOU SELECT THE CLIMATE. Only when it is really cold outside will you fully see for yourself that we have found a solution for a cosy, warm interior, even in difficult places. If you tend to spend your holidays in colder climates, we also offer you some extras that will always make your Smove a welcoming retreat.

INSULATED PANORAMIC FRONT BONNET. The front bonnet is made of double-layered GRP, which is insulated from the inside with foam and protects the exterior against hail.

DOUBLE GLAZING. The skylight and the optional Seitz-S7 windows are all double-glazed.

They are easy to operate with one hand and have â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;thermally brokenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; aluminium frames to give them better insulating qualities.

WHEEL CASING INSULATION. The rear wheel casings are insulated with expanded polypropylene, which absorbs sounds and the cold especially well.

DOUBLE FLOOR. The underfloor and interior floor are both made entirely of double-layered aluminium. This double floor also stores heat, ensuring the interior of the Smove is particularly well insulated.

WE ARE WATCHING ITS FIGURE. The striking flush ClouLine design makes the Smove look sporty. At the same time, we have always kept a keen eye on its figure in all design aspects. The result: it not only looks fast, but its aerodynamics are amazing and let you reach your holiday spot ever so slightly faster.

LOW AIR RESISTANCE. The reduced frontal car silhouette and an increasingly widening B-pillar give the wind less to get hold of.

FLUSH SLIDING ROOF. The optional electric sliding roof does not just look much better, it also improves the aero­ dynam­i cs compared to conventional lifting-­ tilting windows.

AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN. The automotive design language of the Smove is also visible on the roof, where many options can be invisibly fitted between the roof rack bars.

SUPERSTRUCTURES IN THE SLIPSTREAM. All roof structures such as windows and satellite antenna are located in the slipstream, which also reduces wind noise.

REAR SPOILER. Spoiler and spoiler edges reduce the braking vortex at the rear of the Smove.

SMOOTH TRANSITIONS. The Smoveâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s flush roof transition makes for smooth flow surfaces.

To guarantee the highest level of quality, we really need to know our stuff. After we have proceeded meticulously through each planning and production step, our first model, the prototype of an entire ser­ ies, must successfully get through a range of tests.

Then, and only then, when it has come through all the tests with flying colours, do we start production of a model like the Smove, and continue testing.

We sent the Smove to a very special test track. Here, it was subject to conditions with very strong vibrations, so that after 100 laps, it had been subject to a stress corresponding to over 100,000 km on the road. This allows us to uncover any weak spots straight away and fix them quickly.

AFTER THE TESTS COME MORE TESTS. 80 | 81

A holiday is full of surprises. As also, unfortunately, are road surfaces. Thankfully, youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re prepared for all manner of wilderness with a Smove because before a vehicle leaves our factory, we put it to the test on our own test track where it comes face to face with sine waves, potholes, concrete waves and bumpy paving. The surfacing on our track is more extreme than in a natural environment, but if the Smove can come through here, it can come through anywhere.

And then we carry on testing, because then we conduct a leak test compulsory for every motorhome. Not with tap water. We take common rainwater, which, thanks to its low surface tension, can really show up any leak. For this test, we collect rainwater in our own cistern. After so much rain, itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s time for some sun â&#x20AC;&#x201C; because after all these tests, the Smove is finally ready to travel the world with you!
