Introduction Isothermal Battery Calorimeter IBC Heat occurring during the charging and discharging of batteries is largely due to their internal impedance.

Characterisation of this heat at different operating temperatures is vital for efficient thermal management of cells in packs or modules. IBC can be used to study battery stability, performance, efficiency and life cycle.

The IBC Isothermal Battery Calorimeter is available in several variants to accommodate different battery sizes: Coin cell, 18650, 26650, 21700 and prismatic.. With connection to an external cycler the instruments provide accurate and easy testing of heat output from charging and discharging a single battery. Heat capacity determination is also possible.

Isothermal Air Calorimeter IBC-AIR The Isothermal Air Calorimeter utilises power compensation for measurement of heat flux from electronic devices, lithium ion cells and modules. It’s large chamber measures 450 x 400 x 300mm is suitable for a wide variety of electronic components and devices.
