Noel and Adam McLain would like to introduce New Boston Cinema. Their grandparents, Horace and Margaret Haddock, originally purchased the theater, the old First Baptist Church back in 1984. Their thought was that the people in New Boston Texas and the surrounding area of Bowie County needed a little entertainment. They began work on the building and converted it to a music venue and opened Music Country USA in December of 1985. They kept this show alive until 1990, when they decided to sell and move to Branson MO. Years later, after returning to Bowie County, Adam and Noel McLain decided to purchase the old music theater and office building with hopes of a revamp of Music Country USA, which they did with the help of family and friends. However, they decided one weekend a month was just not enough entertainment for the booming downtown area. After much thought they decided what New Boston was missing was a Movie Theater, somewhere a family can afford to go every weekend, not just once a month. And so the journey of creating a cinema theater within the same building started. Plans were drawn up and additional improvements started. The McLain’s said, “We are so excited to open Boston Cinema, here in New Boston, Texas. This dream has been combined with the renovation and recent opening of the Boston General Store and Deli right in the same area. Adam is already opened and operating Ar-Tex Printing, right in the same building”! RUN THE RAIL Half Marathon Each fall, the West Bowie County Rotary Club hosts a marathon and half-marathon fundraiser for the club. The date for this year’s race is October 9th, 2021. Participants may walk or run the entire course of the half-marathon, or they may team up with two or four others to transverse half or a quarter of the course. The marathon course is run only and there is a time-limit of six hours. This half-marathon race, our sixth annual, is being run from De Kalb, Texas, to New Boston, Texas. The marathon race, our first, is being run from Avery, Texas through De Kalb, Texas to finish in New Boston, Texas. These races are run on the northeast terminus of the longest (130 miles) hike/bike trail in Texas. The Northeast Texas trail runs from Trailhead Pavilion in New Boston, Texas, to Farmersville, Texas. In the late 1990’s, two railroads, the Union Pacific and the Chaparral, decided to cease active service and “rail-banked” this stretch of rail bed making it available for non-motorized activities. A post-race celebration will take place at the finish line at the Trailhead Pavilion in New Boston. More information and registration at wbcrotary.org/runtherail
Food Truck Expo SEPTEMBER 24 & 25, 2021 The New Boston Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Food Truck Expo on Friday and Saturday with Brett Shelton and his band offering live entertainment on stage from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Saturday. If you and your significant other cannot make up your mind on where to eat on Friday or Saturday, come to downtown New Boston where you will have a variety of options to choose from at lunch and dinner. If you would like to participate as a food vendor, call the Chamber Office and let Jane Hanna know. There are only 12 slots available, and they are filling up fast. We look forward to seeing you there!!

Preaching the god of ScriPtureS
(Acts 3:13)
“13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, -There is but ONE God over all. The same God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the patriarchs is the One Who came in the flesh as a man, to redeem them. One God (Godhead of Father, Son and Spirit), one elect people of God, one Faith, one Savior, and One Way of salvation revealed by the God of Scripture. 13 hath glorified His Son Jesus; Although ordained from eternity to be the Savior, and One in glory with the Father from eternity, yet, it was necessary that Jesus Christ the Son of God come into the world as a man, and “though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; 9 and being made perfect, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him,” Hebrews 5:8-9. The salvation of sinners was purposed from eternity, but accomplished in time. God the Father glorified His Son, as well as every sinner given Him of the Father in electing Grace, when He finished the work in His life and death, enabling God to be just and justify. The word ‘Son’ has a double meaning of ‘servant.’ God the Father’s Servant for the accomplishing of the pre-ordained salvation from eternity.
