How DiD CHrist Magnify tHe Law?
The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honorable, Isaiah 42:21 There is only ONE righteousness that God has ever approved and that is the righteousness that the LORD Jesus Christ came to earth to establish and earn on behalf of that people that God the Father gave Him from eternity. There is NO righteousness in any man, woman, or child. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God,’ Romans 3:23. Literally, ”all DID sin.” When Adam fell, all His race fell in him at one time, one place, and with the same condemnation, Romans 5:12. Therefore, the need of another representative, made in the likeness of Adam, yet without sin, I Corinthians 15:45. “The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” The first man Adam was a created being, and therefore subject to fallibility. However, the Last Adam (Christ) was made (came in the flesh) a quickening (life giving) Spirit. However, in order to give life to dead sinners, he first had to magnify the law of God in offering to it a perfect, sinless obedience, and honor it in paying the complete penalty, which was nothing less than an obedience unto death, Philippians 2:8. So complete was the work of righteousness (justice) that Christ Jesus fulfilled that God the Father was well pleased for HIS (Christ’s) righteousness’ sake. We are saved, not for any work of our own, but wholly, completely, and finally because of the work of the LORD Jesus in His perfectly obedient life, and His perfect sacrificial death for those sinners that the Father gave Him to save.
