all know about the Fort Worth Zoo. The Tyler Zoo. Maybe even the zoo in Monroe. And although all those are great zoos to visit (the Fort Worth Zoo is amazing, and if you go tell that gorilla I’m coming back for him), there is a mostly unknown place less than a 20 minute drive from downtown Shreveport. The Jubilee Zoo at 6402 Highway 1/North Market, just north of Shreveport, offers kids and adults the chance to see something out of the ordinary without a day’s travel and worrying about keeping tablets charged for kids in the backseat (I know that is a thing of the past, and I am dating myself, but that really was an

issue at one time). You might not get a chance to find yourself eye to eye with a rhino or silver back, but there are many things to keep the kids entertained for hours. Your local Shreveport/Bossier City/Blanchard zoo offers a petting zoo, pony rides (I’m far too big for this ride now

unfortunately), a Zoo-Choo train ride (once again I am far too big, which I need to lodge a formal complaint), as well as many other attractions. Contact the zoo in advance if you would like additional information, and by all means get out and support something local. Something to put a smile on a young child’s face. Nancy was born May 28, 1943 in Coleman, Texas to Lewis and Gracie Durham. She was someone who could do anything she set her mind to. She worked almost her entire adult life in the restaurant industry. She was a Supervisor for Smith Dairy Queens of Texas while living in Seguin, Texas and later enjoyed having her own restaurant called the Highway Haus in La Vernia, Texas.

he served as President of the Student Council at Baton Rouge High, Junior Division President at LSU and President and Rush Chairman of his fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha. He received a M.A. in Russian History from LSU in 1974. Upon declaring "There is no future in history", he continued his education at Tulane University School of Law and graduated in 1977, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and Tulane Law Review. She is survived by her husband, Cecil Skaggs, who she married

in San Marcos, Texas in December 1960 and they later divorced. They joyfully remarried later in life in Morgan City, Louisiana in October 1995.

Ralph was a named partner of Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin and Hubbard in New Orleans, Louisiana and a leading insurance coverage practitioner. He was a frequent lecturer and author, serving as co-author of The Louisiana Environmental Law Handbook (Law- She is also survived by her children Lori Hendrix and her yers Cooperative Publishing) and on the board of editors of various husband, Michael; Sheri Hartline and her husband, Jeff; Christopher Rosenthal and his wife, Sandra; stepson Matthew national publications.

Family was important to Nancy. The one thing that she always raved about was how proud she was of all of her children and grandchildren and how much she loved each and every one of them. They were always on her mind and in her heart and she spoke of them often.

She was a very out-spoken person and was known for her sage advice. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and never missed an opportunity to share his love and gift of Salvation with others.
