Responsibilities:

The purpose of the LTL Packaging Requirement is to ensure that all items are packaged in compliance with TFI’s quality standards, ensuring customers receive their orders accurately, securely, and in excellent condition

Small Packaging Requirements apply to all TFI Distribution locations. These requirements apply to shipments via UPS, FedEx, Transfers, delivered by TFI, and orders to be picked up by customer.

Assemble TFI box/s and reinforce the entirety of the bottom of the box with tape.

*Staples can be used but must be covered with tape.

All items must be placed in a bag with a label and sealed with a heat sealer.

a. If items do not fit inside the bag, wrap the material together.

Add cushioning material (packaging paper) at the bottom of the box.

Place bagged items inside the box.

a. Be mindful of the 50 lb. limit when placing items inside the box.

Add packaging paper on top of the material to fill voided space inside the box.

a. Should be no void in the box. Add as much paper as necessary to fill voids on top and/or sides.

Successfully enter shipment information in World Ship (UPS) or Ship Manager (FedEx) and print label.

7. Place tracking label on the top of the TFI Box.

a. DO NOT place the label across the seam of the box.

8. Place tracking label on the top of the box adjacent to the tracking label.

a. On the TFI white boxes, place the TFI label on the side without the TFI logo.

9. If there is more than one item inside the box, place a “Misc” label on the top of the box.

a. If possible, DO NOT cover the TFI Logo.

10.The box must be taped along all seams, all edges, and if applicable, over all the staples. Tape the entire box if necessary to ensure the package will reach its destination intact.

11.Place completed packages in designated area for pick up.

Tape entire top and bottom of the box to ensure that the seams are securely covered; If necessary, tape entire box to ensure that the package reaches its destination

Once the trainer is confident the trainee has the basic tools and knowledge to perform their job, the trainer will meet with the manager to discuss the training. Once the manager is confident in the completion of the training, he or she will sign and date each area provided below.
