Homeschool Hub

We are proud to offer our homeschool play program, Homeschool Hub. A monthly play group hosted by Arctic Spas Rec Complex. With planned activities, games, and equipment there’s no need to bring anything but your passion for play.

Wednesday , February 18th introduces

This monthly program brings homeschool families together for themed play sessions and engaging activities. Each month, we will explore new activities through hands-on play and group games. Parents are encouraged to participate in the fun; creating a collaborative and engaging environment for our kids to play and enjoy local recreation along side their peers.

Why Come Play?

Recreation

This month we will be playing detective, challenging our skills of observation. With games like Cupid Trackers and Wings and Arrows.

Early Childhood Play

Enriching your child’s early years by sharing in weekly parent and tot activities.

For parents and caregivers of children 0-6yrs of age. Join our parenting community as we come together to share experiences through play and socialization.

Over the next 5 weeks we will be diving into the world of emotions, with a special guest presenter from Leduc County. Kimochis help parents teach their children about emotions by transforming abstract feelings into tangible, playful characters like Cloud, who is moody, or Bug, who is shy. These tools provide a "common language" for families, allowing children to identify and express complex emotions in a healthy way.

Get ready for tax season

You need to file your personal tax return every year to receive many government benefits such as Guaranteed Income Supplement, Canada Child Benefit, or the GST Credit. This year, your 2025 taxes can be filed between the end of February and the end of April. To prepare for tax season, make sure CRA has your up-to-date contact information. The easiest way is to create and maintain a CRA account. If you don’t have one, you can contact them by phone at 1-800-959-8281. You will need to provide information from your most recently filed tax return to prove your identity.

As you receive your tax slips over the next few weeks, keep them in a safe place. If you don’t receive them, you must contact the issuer for a replacement. Or you can find your t-slip information directly on your CRA account.

If you have a moderate income and a simple tax situation, you may be eligible for free tax-filing assistance from the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). Information will be shared about this program eligibility and availability soon.
