Early Childhood Play

Enriching your child’s early years by sharing in weekly parent and tot activities.

For parents and caregivers of children 0-6yrs of age. Join our parenting community as we come together to share experiences through play and socialization.

Stay n’ Play is a free, drop in parent & tot group focused on the importance of early childhood play and social enrichment for caregivers. Share your experiences, concerns, triumphs and disasters of parenthood—or just have a good laugh together!

Located in Arctic Spas Recreation Complex’s fieldhouse, a large gymnasium setting. Our family friendly setting is a comfy backdrop to get out of the house and enjoy the morning with your baby. Free play format with a wind-down at the end of each morning. Engaging play such as playdough creation, finger painting, water play, and ages and stages fundamental milestone play.

Infant Massage

Join us this April for our 4 week Infant Massage program at Arctic Spas Rec Complex. Brought to you by Leduc County; through these guided sessions parents will learn nurturing massage techniques to promote bonding, improve baby sleep, and ease colic and digestion issues.

Thorsby Early Childhood Resource Fair

Calling all parents with children 0 to 6 years of age!

Our Early Childhood Resource Fair offers a FREE fun-filled morning that includes a petting zoo, activities, snacks, and door prizes! There will be resource tables from various community agencies and lots of developmental information and activities for children 0 to 6 years old.

The Looksee Checklist is a simple, easy-to-use developmental tool designed to help monitor a child’s development from one month to six years of age, featuring a short list of “yes” or “no” questions about the child’s abilities.

Join us to take a quick look at your child’s development, celebrate their successes, and learn how to access services to support areas of concern.

Helping children thrive with routines

Does your child struggle to complete everyday activities like getting ready for bed, shifting from playtime to another activity, or leaving the house? Do you want to create an environment that helps them build new skills and grow their independence?

If so, join this session to learn:

• why routines are good for your child and the whole family

• how to create routines

• ideas to handle common challenges

We will be joining AHS to offer this webinar intended for parents and caregivers who have children 1 to 10 years old. It’s also suitable for parents and caregivers of children with developmental delays and autistic or neurodivergent children. Snacks will be provided.
