Service

Our annual report gives us the opportunity to reflect on the past year and celebrate the ways we supported students and educators. Some highlights of the 2021-2022 year were:

• Hosted the first annual Scheer Student Opportunity Fund Golf Tournament in August 2021, a Halloween Drive Thru Trick or Treat event in October 2021, the annual Trailblazing Thompson breakfast event in April 2022 to celebrate educators and engage the community and the Loveland Classic 5k/10k in April 2022.

• Awarded $331,822 in post-secondary student scholarships & scholarship renewals to 132 students.

• The Help Kids Succeed school supply program stuffed 1,700 backpacks for back to school needs for economically insecure student families

• Worked as part of a multi-organization team to initiate planning for a Northern Colorado Regional Youth Shelter. A Thompson School District building was identified as a potential site and plans for grant applications were put in place.

• Held the first Project Prom attire giveaway for TSD students. Thirty-two students were helped in this one-day event.

• In partnership with TSD, TEF created a new position of Marketing Technician that increased foundation staff to 3 people.

Successful Grant Applications

• A transformative grant from the OtterCares Foundation to assist TSD with infusing career and real-world experiences in the K-5 level

• A sustaining grant from the Erion Family Foundation for Thompson Career Campus to provide classroom consumables for the Construction Trades pathway and student certification and testing fees.

• A generous grant from the David R. & Virginia D. Pulliam Charitable Trust to purchase a StarLab for K-12 student programming.
