De ontwerpopgave was het samenbrengen van prive en openbare ruimtes in het kromme rijnpark in utrecht. het gaat vooral om het prive gevoel. een gevoel van intimiteit, kleinschaligheid en menselijkheid. dit zocht ik in een fijnmazige padenstructuur waar ‘kleine plekjes’ verborgen waren. op deze en de pagina hiernaast zijn twee studies te zien waarmee in schaal, vormtaal en structuur gespeeld is. de uiteindelijke keuze viel op het tweede studiemodel. er is wel gezocht naar een toepasbaarheid van het eerste model door kleine uitstapjes te maken in een andere materiaalsoort en vormtaal. niet vloeiend en beton, maar hoekig en hout.

| het fietspad snijd door het landschap om de stad toch verbonden te laten zijn. vanaf het fietspad is er zicht op de kroon en op de weelderigheid van de beplanting. door de grote bossages is het park eigenzinnig en verborgen, dit zal mensen aanzetten tot het ontdekken.
