Our “Autumn Majestic” sale will be the perfect finish to our 2021 feature auction schedule, as it presents a superb catalog of rare and interesting discoveries gathered from estates and collections throughout the Northeast. On Friday, we will offer a large collection from the Frank Cowan estate which includes early English oak furniture, including 16th and 17th Century cupboards, chests, coffers, and chairs. This day will also present many important Chinese objects, featuring an 18th Century Qianlong flambe glazed moon flask. On Saturday, we will present paintings by Winslow Homer, Ivan Aivazovsky, Lilly Martin Spencer, John Frederick Kensett, Alfred Thompson Bricher, Thomas Moran and others. On Sunday, we will present artwork by Kees Van Dongen, Neil Welliver, Jamie Wyeth, Dahlov Ipcar, Charles Woodbury, Frederick Judd Waugh, Bernard Langlais, Stephen Etnier, Waldo Peirce and others.
