Always Building for a Healthier Community
NEW CONSTRUCTION OF
NOVANT HEALTH LELAND SURGERY CENTER
PROJECT OVERVIEW
In the growing Brunswick County region, a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center is taking shape where innovation, convenience, and trusted care comes together.
Thomas Construction Group has partnered with Novant Health and Meadows & Ohly to deliver a new 15,050-square-foot ambulatory surgery center in Leland, North Carolina. Designed by Little Architects, with engineering support from Specialized Engineering (MEP), Citadel (Structural), and Norris & Tunstall (Civil), the project exemplifies a collaborative design-assist approach. Throughout preconstruction, Thomas Construction Group played an integral role in evaluating building systems and materials to ensure cost efficiency, constructability, and long-term performance, balancing healthcare excellence in design with value driven construction. The one-level center will feature four procedure rooms, supporting specialties in general surgery, urology, orthopedics, and endoscopy/colonoscopy. Built with tilt-up concrete construction, the building offers both long-term durability and the design flexibility needed to meet evolving healthcare demands. Once complete, the center will expand access to surgical care within Brunswick County and across the region, ensuring patients receive high-quality treatment close to home. Novant Health is an integrated network of more than 900 locations, including 19 hospitals, 750+ physician clinics and urgent care centers, and a wide range of outpatient facilities, imaging, and pharmacy services—delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to communities across the Southeast.
