0 Introduction

在 思 考 裝 置 的 型 態 時， 我 們 從 空 間 構 成 及 材 料 著 手， 藉 由 材 料 的 特 性 與 基 地、 裝 置 本 身 的 紀 念 性 對 話； 並 嘗 試 以 特 殊 的 構 築 手 法， 控 制 使 用 者 的 感 官， 提 供 基 地 上 有 趣 的 空 間 體 驗。 When thinking about the form of the installation, we start with the spatial composition and materials, and use the characteristics of the material to have a memorable dialogue with the base and the installation itself; and try to use special construction techniques to control the user’s senses and provide interesting information on the base. 1 紀念性、感官、抽離現實

歷史中的紀念性建築多由石材建造，岩石永恆、堅 不可催的特性與建築本身的紀念性相互呼應。我們 從「永恆性」出發，重新思考現代材料與紀念物的 關係。藉由材料的折射與反射，讓使用者的感官經 由想像而無限放大，達到暫時脫離現實的空間體驗。 The monumental buildings in history are mostly made of stone, and the eternal and unstoppable characteristics of rock echo each other with the monumentality of the building itself. We start from "eternity" and rethink the relationship between modern materials and monuments. Through the refraction and reflection of the material, the user's senses can be infinitely magnified through imagination to achieve a spatial experience temporarily separated from reality.

1.1 基地上的紀念物

基地位於逢甲南邊舊校門旁，曾經標誌性的門拱 如 今 僅 殘 存 一 座 校 碑 佇 立。 原 先 是 校 門 結 構 的 校碑，隨時間的推移下大門拆遷，校碑從具結構 作用的構造物轉變為被保留、留為紀念的立碑。

The base is located next to the old school gate to the south of Fengjia. The once iconic gate arch is now only a school monument standing. The school monument was originally the school gate structure. As time went by, the gate was demolished and the school monument changed from a structure with a structural function to a monument that was preserved and kept as a memorial.

1.2 愛情圓筒與愛情隧道

Rem Koolhaas 在〈Delirious New York〉中提及， 19 世紀末的曼哈頓有一個做為遊樂園的小島 Coney Island，這座樂園如同曼哈頓的雛形，是一個「違 反現實狀態、滿足人類各種不同欲求」的場所。 在 Coney Island 中 的 裝 置： 愛 情 圓 筒 與 愛 情 隧 道 （Barrels of Love & Tunnels of Love）， 以 具 象 的 裝置闡述大都會中人們對於情感的渴求與遐想。 Rem Koolhaas mentioned in "Delirious New York" that there was an amusement park in Manhattan in the end of the 19th century which was the”Coney Island”. This park is like the prototype of Manhattan. It is a place that "violates reality and satisfies various human desires." . The installation in Coney Island: “Barrels of Love & Tunnels of Love” is a concrete installation to illustrate people's desire and reverie for emotion in the metropolis.

Barrels of Love 是 一 個 直 徑 兩 米 且 不 斷 轉 動 的 圓 筒， 圓 筒 的 兩 側 分 別 為 男 性 與 女 性 的 入 口， 當 雙 方 進 入 管 中 便 會 同 時 失 去 重 心 並 跌 跤 在 彼 此 身 上。Barrels of Love 以 入 口 動 線 的 設 置 與 剝 奪 人 們 的 重 心， 控 制 人 們 所 見 之 物 與 肉 體 上 的 距 離。Tunnels of Love 則 是 男 女 倆 倆 乘 著 小 船， 並 順 著 人 造 河 進 入 隧 道。 在 漆 黑 且 安 靜 的 隧 道 中， 當 視 覺 與 聽 覺 被 隔 離， 對 同 乘 者 的 想 像 便 經 由 僅 存 的 觸 覺 和 嗅 覺 被 無 限 放 大。 “Barrels of Love” is a cylinder with a diameter of two meters which rotates continuously. On both sides of the cylinder are entrances for men and women respectively. When both of man and woman enter the tube, they will lose their center of gravity and fall on each other. “Barrels of Love” depriving people of their center of gravity by the setting of the entrance.“Tunnels of Love” : Man and woman have to take a small boat together to enter the river. In the dark and quiet tunnel, when sight and hearing are separated, the imagination of the fellow rider is infinitely magnified through the only remaining sense of touch and smell.

2 折射與反射

材料經由光線所產生的反射與折射，擁有透明卻無 法 清 晰 可 見 的 特 性。 藉 由 材 質 的 特 性， 在 時 間 的 推 移 下 展 現 出「 一 體 兩 面 性 」， 進 而 使 人 們 在 裝 置 中 不 同 的 位 置 有 著 不 同 的 感 受。 夜 間 光 源 由 內 而 外 發 散， 對 比 周 圍 的 黑 暗， 半 透 明 的 裝 置 顯 得 明 亮 且 引 人 注 目 並 產 生 與 白 天 完 全 顛 倒 的 景 象。 The reflection and refraction of the material through light have the characteristics of being transparent but not clearly visible. With the characteristics of the material, it shows "one body and two sides" over time, which in turn makes people have different feelings in different positions in the device. The light source at night radiates from the inside out, contrasting with the surrounding darkness, the translucent device appears bright and eye-catching and produces a scene completely reversed from the daytime.

2.1 有機玻璃

有 機 玻 璃 (Poly) 在 20 世 紀 初 期 由 科 學 家 合 成， 除高透明度、輕質與可塑的特性之外，其難以被 快速分解的特性與過去牢固的石造似乎有某種 程 度 上 的 契 合。 光 線 經 由 Poly 產 生 的 反 射 與 折 射， 產 生 透 明 卻 無 法 清 晰 可 見 的 特 性。 藉 由 此 特性我們將分別其運用在裝置的外牆與內部樓 梯，希望藉由材料來達到一體兩面的空間體驗。 Poly was synthesized by scientists in the early 20th century. In addition to its high transparency, light weight, and plastic properties, its difficultto-decompose properties seem to fit in to some extent with the solid stone construction of the past.

Light is reflected and refracted by Poly to produce transparent but not clearly visible characteristics.

With this feature, we apply them to the external walls and internal stairs of the installation separately, hoping to achieve a one-sided twosided spatial experience through materials.

2.2 膠膜玻璃

膠合玻璃因中間夾著強韌而富黏著力的中間色 膜 PVB， 中 間 的 模 經 過 高 溫 高 壓 後 成 型。 其 中 色 膜 可 以 改 變 其 顏 色。 藉 由 不 同 光 線 的 角 度 產 生 光 影 變 化。 藉 由 其 顏 色 折 射 特 性 配 合 金 屬 的 反 射， 隨 著 時 間 產 生 獨 特 的 空 間 體 驗。 The coated glass is strong and adhesive intermediate color film PVB, and the middle mold is formed after high temperature and high pressure. The film can change its color.

The light and shadow changes are produced by different light angles. With its color refraction characteristics and the reflection of metal, it produces a unique spatial experience over time.

3 The Game of Choice

如 同 Coney Island 中 兩 個 裝 置， 我 們 以 動 線 設 計 及 五 感 的 控 制， 達 到 裝 置 中 與 日 常 行 為 的 悖 離。 在 充 滿 混 亂 與 雜 音 的 基 地 上， 此 種 悖 離 使 人 們 擁 有 暫 時 脫 離 現 實 的 體 驗。 Li ke th e t wo de v i ce s i n C o n e y Is l a n d , we use the design of movement lines and the c o n t ro l of t h e f i ve s e n s e s to a c h i e ve t h e deviation of the device from daily behavior.

On a base full of chaos and noise, this kind of deviation gives people the experience of temporarily detaching themselves from reality.

我們將裝置體驗分為三個層級：一是從遠方觀察的發光體，二為進入裝置中的 布幔廊道，三是從半透明的柱狀空間走上裝置頂樓。在不同層級中所選擇的道 路皆會因材質、光線和動線變化影響人們所見，由亮至暗、是透或濁、折射抑 或反射，每一次選擇產生的變因皆影響使用者對於裝置空間的體驗與認知。 We divide the installation experience into three levels: one is the luminous body viewed from a distance, the other is the curtain corridor that enters the installation, and the third is to walk up to the top of the installation from the translucent columnar space. The road chosen at different levels will affect what people see due to changes in material, light and movement. From bright to dark, transparent or turbid, refraction or reflection, the variable caused by each choice affects the user’s perception of the installation space. Experience and cognition.

「Square」直譯為正方形，並同時能釋義為「平方、 矩、廣場」。回到最初所談論的紀念性、感官與抽離 現實，我們藉由簡單幾何之間的型態（Format）關 係來回應此題。當人在「Square」之間不斷來迴移 動，每一個空間層級之間的轉換以體驗材料的變化。 "Square" is literally translated as square, and can be interpreted as "square, rule, plaza" at the same time. Back through to the beginning, we are talking about monumental, senses, and detachment from reality, we respond to th is issu e with th e for m a t r e la ti ons h i p between the simple geometry. When people are constantly moving back and forth between "Square", each level of space is transformed to experience the change of materials.

我 們 希 望 藉 由 材 質 的 特 性， 在 不 同 情 況 下 展 現 出「 一 體 兩 面 性 」， 進 而 使 人 們 在 裝 置 中 不 同 的 位 置 有 著 不 同 的 感 受， 即 折 射 與 反 射 所 造 成 的 可 見 與 不 可 見。 創 造 出 不 同 情 況 的 變 因 有 二： 一 為 時 間 的 流 動， 二 是 使 用 者 位 置 的 改 變。

因 日 夜 交 替 所 發 生 的 光 照 角 度 變 化， 使 裝 置 的 可 見 性 不 斷 變 化。 日 間 光 源 由 外 照 亮 並 產 生 強 烈 反 射， 反 映 周 遭 的 景 物， 此 時 的 裝 置 無 法 被 視 線 穿 透。 夜 間 光 源 由 內 而 外 發 散， 對 比 周 圍 的 黑 暗， 半 透 明 的 裝 置 顯 得 明 亮 且 引 人 注 目。 We hope that with the characteristics of the material, it can show "one body and two sides" in different situations, so that people have different feelings at different positions in the device, that is, the visible and invisible caused by refraction and reflection. There are two variables that create different situations: one is the flow of time, and the other is the change of the user's position.

The visibility of the device is constantly changing due to the changes in the angle of illumination that occur during the alternation of day and night. During the day, the light source is illuminated from outside and produces strong reflections, reflecting the surrounding scenery. At this time, the device cannot be penetrated by the line of sight. The light source at night radiates from the inside out, contrasting with the surrounding darkness, the translucent device appears bright and eye-catching.

4 製作過程 我 們 利 用 矽 膠 灌 製 了 一 個 方 形 模 具， 並 藉 由 此 模 具 製 造 出 POLY 的 模 型 立 面。 利 用 焊 接 黑 鐵 管 的 方 式 來 製 作 頭 盔 的 外 部 支 承， 內 部 則 是 利 用 水 刀 切 割 金 屬 斜 面， 達 到 有 趣 的 視 覺 經 驗。 We made a square mold with silicone rubber, and made a model facade of POLY from this mold. The outer suppor t of the helmet is made by welding black iron pipes, and the metal bevel is cut with a water jet inside, which achieves an interesting visual experience.
