Sometimes, when hear about a woman doing something extraordinary—starting a business, breaking records, winning awards, rising through male-dominated sectors—I pause, smile, and quietly whisper to myself, we did it. Because honestly, every time one woman wins in this country, it feels like a collective victory. Like a moment that belongs to all of us.

It’s no secret that Nigeria can be a tough place to be a woman. From the boardroom to the ballot box, from tech hubs to trading markets, male dominance often sets the tone. We’re constantly expected to be strong but not too strong. Brilliant, but not intimidating. Soft, but still invincible. It’s a balancing act, and if you’ve ever had to shrink yourself to fit into a room that didn’t even make space for you, then you know exactly what I mean.

That’s why every single achievement by a woman feels monumental. It’s not just about the award or the title or the headlines—it’s the unspoken stories behind those wins.

The years of being overlooked, the backhanded compliments, the balancing of babies and board meetings, the judgment for being “too ambitious,” the struggle to be taken seriously, and the strength it takes to keep going. When a woman pushes through all that and still shines, you have to celebrate her. Not just for what she’s done but for what she represents.

Which brings me to why I’m so excited for The ARISE Gala - Women Making Impact 2025. Come Monday 31st March 2025 , Arise News Channel is turning the spotlight on women who are making a difference—in fashion, finance, politics, tech, entertainment, philanthropy, and more. It’s not just another night of glam (though we’re here for the glam, too), it’s a bold statement: we see you, we salute you, and we’re celebrating you.

And don’t think we do that nearly enough.

Our society is quick to praise women when they’re nurturing, self-sacrificing, or quiet achievers. But what about when they lead loudly? When they demand seats at the table—or build their own? When they shatter ceilings and refuse to apologise for their shine? Those women deserve their flowers, too. And honestly, not just during Women’s Month or one annual event—but every single day.

The ARISE Gala wont just be a night of recognition; it’s will also serve as a necessary reminder. A reminder that women are not waiting for permission anymore. We’re already doing the work—building, healing, innovating, investing, empowering. And it’s important that platforms like ARISE continue to amplify that impact. Because visibility matters. Because stories matter. Because young girls watching need to see women in power, in charge, in full bloom.

08077092196

To every woman reading this, whether you’re running a company or running your home (or both), please know that your work matters. Even if the world doesn’t clap loudly enough, hope you clap for yourself. I hope you take up space, own your journey, and never stop showing up.

ARISE HONOURS WOMEN OF POWER

It’s not every day that you walk into a room and feel the air charged with quiet power, bold purpose, and the unmistakable hum of history being made. But that’s exactly the energy that will fill the air at The ARISE Gala 2025- Women Making Impact — a celebration honouring a remarkable group of Nigerian women whose stories define strength, influence, and impact.

As International Women’s Month winds down, ARISE TV has curated a stellar list of trailblazers, visionaries, change-makers, and quiet disruptors — women who are rewriting the rules, shifting narratives, and using their voices and platforms to shape a more inclusive and powerful future. From politics to philanthropy, finance to fashion, media to medicine, these women are not just rising — they are lifting entire communities as they go.

Each name on this list tells a story of perseverance, innovation, and heart. It’s the story of Justice Jane Inyang, who put the spotlight on child protection with her landmark ruling. It’s Juliet Ehimuan’s story of championing Africa’s digital transformation from within. It’s Mo Abudu’s global storytelling power and the blooming brilliance of women like Kafilat Araoye and Adaora Umeoji, proving that career ceilings are only imaginary. It is also the story of those who dare to defy the odds. Of women like Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, who made cancer advocacy a national priority. Of Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who has worked relentlessly to make policy humane. Of Naomi Campbell, a global icon who has used her spotlight to shine on African designers and creators.

But perhaps what’s most inspiring is the range of what impact looks like. For some, it’s shaking up boardrooms and balance sheets. For others, it’s mentoring quietly, writing books that shift culture, or making education accessible in forgotten communities. This list reminds us that impact isn’t always loud — sometimes, it’s steady, consistent, and deeply personal.

As we celebrate these phenomenal women, we also acknowledge that the work continues. Gender equality is still a dream deferred in many sectors. But these women offer us a glimpse of what’s possible when brilliance meets opportunity. They challenge us — not just to clap, but to build, to push, to create space.

So come Monday 31st March 2025, we honour their excellence. We toast to their resilience. And we look forward to the ripple effects their lives will continue to inspire. Because this isn’t just a list — it’s a legacy in the making.

Whether flowing or structured, bold or understated, a dress has the ability to make a statement without saying a word. In a world where fashion is self-expression, the right dress is an emblem of strength, grace, and identity. Here’s why dresses remain the ultimate feminine power pieces, effortlessly bridging style and substance.

Versatile for Every Occasion

A great dress works overtime—it can

Effortless Elegance

There’s something undeniably magical about slipping into a dress. With one piece, you’re instantly put-together—no need for endless mixing and matching. Whether it’s a sleek sheath dress for a boardroom takeover or a flowing maxi for a romantic evening, a dress embodies effortless sophistication. It streamlines decision-making while ensuring you look refined and confident.

A Personal Power Statement

Dresses are a canvas for self-expression. Whether it’s bold prints, striking cuts, or minimalist sophistication, the right dress tells the world who you are before you even speak. It’s more than just fashion—it’s a declaration. The right dress gives women the confidence to own their individuality.

A Feminist Symbol

Once viewed as just a symbol of traditional femininity, dresses have been redefined in today’s world as power pieces. Women are reclaiming them on their own terms, proving that strength and success aren’t dictated by what you wear. From corporate offices to red carpets to feminist rallies, dresses now represent choice, autonomy, and selfempowerment.

Timeless and Iconic

Some fashion trends come and go, but dresses are forever. From ancient civilizations to modern power dressing, they’ve always been part of history’s most defining fashion moments. Take the Little Black Dress (LBD), for example—it’s been a symbol of sophistication for decades and isn’t going anywhere.

Freedom in Movement

A dress isn’t just about how it looks—it’s about how it makes you feel. A well-fitted dress in the right fabric allows you to move with ease, whether you’re running the world or running errands. From fitted silhouettes that hug in all the right places to breezy maxis that flow with every step, dresses provide a sense of ease and empowerment.

A Celebration of Femininity

Femininity is power, and a dress is its ultimate tribute. It highlights the beauty of contrast—strong yet soft, graceful yet commanding. Wearing a dress isn’t just about looking good; it’s about embracing and celebrating being a woman in all its forms.

Confidence in Simplicity

There’s power in simplicity, and no garment proves that more than a dress. No need for layering or overthinking—one well-tailored dress can transform how you carry yourself. From wrap dresses that cinch at the waist to structured midis that exude confidence, a dress makes looking polished almost effortless.

command attention in a high-powered meeting and turn heads at an evening gala. The perfect tailored dress exudes authority in the office, while a playful midi brings energy to a brunch date.
