candidate, Joe Biden, who last night overtook his closest rival, President Donald Trump in the count in Pennsylvania, putting him an inch away from becoming the United States’46th President.

The Secret Service sent an extra squad of agents to Biden’s campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware as expectations rose that the Democratic candidate was inching towards victory

yesterday. Biden is currently leading the presidential race with 264 Electoral College votes to his credit, while his closest rival, President Donald Trump is on 214 Electoral College votes.

The required college votes to be declared winner is pegged at 270. The nation awaits final results from Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina. Already, Biden

With 8 Newly Sworn-in Justices, S’Court Nears Full Quota of 21 Alex Enumah in Abuja Eight new Justices of the Supreme Court were yesterday sworn in by the Chief Justice

of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, thus, pushing the number of Justices of the court from 12 to a record 20, one Justice short of its full

complement of 21 justices as stipulated by the constitution. Justice Muhammad, who lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointments,

stated that the figure "is the highest in recent times." The justices sworn in yesterday were Lawal Garba, (North-west), Helen

Ogunwumiju (South-west), Abdu Aboki (North-west), and M M Saulawa (North-west). Others are Adamu Jauro (North-east), Samuel Oseji

Sanwo-Olu Presents Report to Buhari on Lagos Destruction, Seeks Support Fresh #EndSARS protesters arrested, arraigned in Abuja Adedayo Akinwale in Abuja Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, presented a report on the numerous property destroyed by hoodlums in the state during the #EndSARS protests to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa, with an appeal to the president to assist the state in its recovery process. This is just as a Magistrate Court remanded six #EndSARS protesters that were arrested and arraigned in Abuja yesterday, following fresh demonstrations at the entrance of the National Assembly. Meanwhile, Governor Sanwo-Olu declined to take questions from State House Correspondents on the reason he visited the president and on the state of affairs in Lagos. However, the president stated the reason for the

governor’s visit via tweets on his verified Twitter handle, @ NGRPresident and this was confirmed by the governor’s aide, "President @MBuhari this afternoon met with Governor @jidesanwoolu of Lagos. The Governor presented a Report on the extent of the destruction suffered by Lagos State in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests. #AsoVillaToday," the president tweeted.
