of the equity in Polaris Bank by Strategic Capital Investment Limited (SCIL). The House of Representatives approved the sale of the commercial bank, noting that it followed the laid down procedure and relevant
presidential approval. This was just as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) yesterday formally announced the completion of the acquisition process.
SICL is owned by some northern business leaders. A statement issued by the Director, Corporate Communications Department, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Osita Nwanisobi, on behalf of the CBN and AMCON,
disclosed that SCIL had paid an upfront consideration of N50 billion to acquire 100 per cent of the equity of Polaris Bank and had also accepted the terms of the agreement which included the full repayment of the sum of N1.305 trillion, being the

yesterday resumed crude oil exports at the Forcados Oil Terminal. The resumption of operations at the 400,000 bpd
export terminal came ahead of the October 30 schedule, when the oil giant had stated that the essential repairs would be completed.
A spokesman of Shell Nigeria, Mr. Bamidele Odugbesan, confirmed last night “that essential repairs at Forcados Oil Terminal
