Buhari Disbands Odubu-led NDDC Board Asks interim management to stay until after forensic audit Deji Elumoye and Omololu Ogunmade in Abuja President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday ordered the reconstitution of the

Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), effectively sacking the new board led by Pius Odubu, which has since been cleared by the Senate.

The president also ordered a forensic audit of the organisation and subsequent inauguration of the reconstituted board after the forensic examination.

Buhari’s position countered the Senate, which had rejected the NDDC interim management board and insisted on the inauguration of the board appointed by

Buhari and cleared by the lawmakers. But a member of the Senate committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Kabiru Gaya, defended the president's

action, saying he has done nothing wrong in keeping in abeyance the composition of the board of the NDDC. Continued on page 10
