senior officials, is false and an attempt to mislead members of the public. The central bank, in a statement by its Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Isaac Okorafor, pointed out that contrary to the headline-grabbing narrative

that the discussion was about a fraudulent transaction, “this conversation, the beginnings of which was omitted to create a different impression, was simply to proffer solutions to a misunderstanding that affected the bank’s balance sheet.”

Furthermore, the bank maintained that as publicly known, the CBN was approached in 2015 by the National Economic Management Team and the National Economic Council (NEC), chaired by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi

Ganduje Presents Staff of Office to New Emirs Sultan urged to challenge action

Ibrahim Shuaibu in Kano Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, yesterday started presentation of staff of office to emirs of the four new emirates created out of the old Kano Emirate. The four new emirs are Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero, Bichi; Alhaji Tafida Ila, Rano; Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir, Gaya; and Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar ll, Karaye.

The governor had on Saturday presented appointment letters to the new emirs, saying he was unaware of any court order stopping him from breaking the former Kano Emirate.
