Ekiti: Olusola Urges Tribunal to Annul Fayemi’s Victory Points to ‘overwhelming discrepancies in results declared by INEC’ Seeks to be declared governor elect Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti The Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) candidate in the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State, Prof Kolapo Olusola,

yesterday filed a petition at the governorship election tribunal against the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), insisting that he was the actual

winner of the election. According to the results declared by INEC, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Kayode Fayemi polled a total of 197, 459 to defeat

Olusola, who garnered 178, 121 votes. Consequently, Fayemi was declared winner and had since received his Certificate of Return from INEC.

Olusola, in company with his Deputy, Mr. Kazeem Ogunsakin, filed the petition against the results at the Election Petition Tribunal located within the premises

of shopping for a “fraudulent” interim court order to declare vacant the seat of the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, following his defection from the APC to the PDP. But in a swift reaction,

the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed described the allegations by the PDP as reckless and desperate, adding that they lack proof. In a statement issued by its

National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP said that credible information at its disposal showed that some cabals in the Presidency and APC had perfected the said plan, with the sole aim

Support Buhari, Root Out Looters, Oshiomhole Tells APC Members Adibe Emenyonu in Benin City

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has called on the youths and supporters of the party to support President Muhammad Buhari “to Root out thieves and treasury looters, who believe it is their birthright to continue to loot.” Oshiomhole stated this yesterday in Benin City while addressing APC youths and supporters of the party who gathered at the Benin Airport to welcome him. He promised to meet their expectations as far as the running of the party was concerned. Oshiomhole also said the era of use and dump in politics was over, adding that every grievance they had with the government in Edo would be addressed.

His words: "We must support the President and the APC to remove all those thieves, all those looters who believe it is their birthright to continue to loot; those who say that their purpose in government is for juicy not for the welfare of the people.
