Thirteen has pledged its commitment to reducing its environmental impacts. The Take Control campaign will see the organisation achieve its goals to becoming a much greener organisation, in line with the government’s target of 100 per cent reduction in carbon emissions by 2050. Reducing our environmental impacts is everyone’s responsibility and there are many ways that we can all contribute. We need to make the right choices now and in the future. We must start to make smarter decisions to protect the environment and reduce our carbon footprint.
Reduce energy from carbon sources
We’ll be looking at how we get our energy from cleaner sources and how we can use it more efficiently.
Reduce emissions from our fleet
We’ll be looking at how we can use more low emission vehicles, alternative transport and how can we do things differently?
Reduce, reuse, recycle
Reduce waste, increase recycling and divert from landfill.
Reduce emissions from business travel
We'll always consider if we need to travel, how we can make smarter decisions to use technology more and how we can do this in the most environmentally friendly way.
We’ll increase energy efficiency and overall environmental Efficiency and overall sustainability of our new and existing homes and create a environmental sustainability roadmap to decarbonise our new and existing homes to benefit of our homes our customers. Develop an environmental charter for supply chain and partnerships
We’ll be working together with partners and contractors to reduce environmental impacts and we’ll share our learning.
Creating greener communities
We’ll be working with communities on some exciting projects and we’ll be educating and empowering our customers to become more environmentally friendly.
Colleague engagement
We’ll be giving colleagues the knowledge, so they are informed and empowered to take control and reduce their impacts and ours.
Customer engagement
We will work together to educate and empower Thirteen’s customers. We’re giving colleagues the right training and tools to be able to support the plans. We’re upskilling our colleagues to give them the knowledge they will need for the future in line with our ambition.
Customers at the heart Our customers are our priority and what we do will be beneficial for them, so that we can continue to look after their health and wellbeing. We’ll be looking at what needs to be done to deliver sustainable homes which are fit for the future and that are right for our customers. We’ll also discover how we can add value through initiatives, such as tackling fuel poverty, while we continually educate our colleagues so they can support our customers.
