EN: THIRD SHIFT is a contemporary art festival presented by Third Space, a not-for-profit artist-run centre in Saint John, New Brunswick. The land on which we gather, create, work, and play is the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik/Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet) Peoples. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet), Mi’kmaq, and Passamaquoddy Peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1726.
THIRD SHIFT was created in 2015 as a platform for new experiences and communal exchange. The event aims to offer Saint John citizens and visitors to the city a unique opportunity to engage with contemporary art and re-imagine urban space.

THIRD SHIFT's theme for 2024 is "psyche", selected by Third Space's Artist in Residence
Tara Audibert, a Wolastoqiyik multidisciplinary artist & filmmaker with 25 years of experience in animation, comics, and fine art.
Psyche encompasses the entirety of our inner world, from physical to mental health. It is an invitation to artists to navigate the profound complexities of consciousness and the human condition, transcending boundaries and creating new intersections of thought and expression.
While it is important to maintain a balance in all aspects of life, this year’s lineup of artworks explore how our psyches extrapolate and intertwine, no matter the size, medium, or subject matter.
