BROOKE BORCHERDING Brooke Borcherding is an emerging landscape artist living and working in Seattle, WA. Originating from Southern California and now the Pacific Northwest, Brooke has always been drawn to the things that surround her where she lives - first the palm trees, then the fields, and now the city and water. She took her easel outdoors for the first time in 2009, observing and learning from both nature and her plein air painting peers while earning a BFA from the University of Oregon in 2010. Brooke has earned numerous awards at various juried shows and plein air events, and is currently represented by Alki Arts in downtown Seattle. Her works are collected worldwide, including Washington, California, Utah, New York, Florida and Italy.

SCOTT BREMS Scott Brems’ work explores the deeper emanations of the natural world. His acrylic and mixed media paintings, with their refined surface quality, bold brushstrokes, and colorful shapes breathe new life into traditional landscape. Encounters with nature resonate even in his contemporary abstractions—motion found in a windblown sky, abstract patterns observed on a red rock canyon wall. Enriched by a lifelong relationship with the American West, Brems’ naturalistic reimaginings reach beyond the visual experience to evoke the visceral. Brems studied painting at Arizona State University and the atelier-oriented Scottsdale Artists’ School. Compelled to expression, he produces work encompassing a diverse range of styles from his Arizona studio.

TERRI BURRIS Terri Burris was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in sunny Hermosa Beach, where she developed her interest in art at an early age. After studying art in college, Terri went on to work as a graphic designer for 15 years. Bolstered in an extensive career in textile, graphic and ceramic design she eventually returned to her first love, painting—a vocation that she pursues avidly. Terri paints from focused perspectives of the natural world, filtered and infused with memory and nostalgia. Her intuitive use of color creates subtle layers of imagery that are unique to each subject. The textured, moody and poetic pieces incorporate crystallized collage fragments to provoke each individual’s own thoughts, feelings, memories and imagination. Terri is a recipient of the Image-Ination Award and a selected artist of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Rental and Sales Gallery, and exhibits her works in numerous galleries and exhibitions. She continues to create living memories with her husband and son in her native Los Angeles.

STACY D’AGUIAR Stacy D’Aguiar was born in 1974 in Washington DC, but now makes her home in San Diego, CA. Stacy received a BA in Graphic Design from Virginia Tech. Stacy pursued her design career after graduating in 1996, and used her drawing skills to design t-shirts, toys, costumes, logos, and corporate branding. She picked up a paintbrush again in 2002, and even apprenticed with Third & Wall artist Liz Jardine for several years, where she was introduced to abstracts and acrylics and learned many painting techniques. She was encouraged to “loosen up,” and focus more on the idea and feeling she wanted to convey, rather than every detail. This broadened her perspective, prompting her to experiment with color, as well as incorporate texture into all of her creations. Stacy creates on canvas, metal or wood, using a wide range of subject matter. She enjoys painting all subject matter, from surrealism to abstract, and especially loves incorporating texture as a sculptural element into her work. Every piece is infused with Reiki energy (a universal healing technique) and Sacred Geometry symbols, which elevates each creation energetically, and fills the room with positivity, peace and tranquility. Stacy’s studio and gallery space is located in the art district of Little Italy, San Diego where she creates and sells her beautiful works.

DINA D’ARGO With bold brushstrokes, lush colors, and textural elements, Dina D’Argo captures the grace and beauty of her subjects. An animal lover and horsewoman, her focus is on celebrating the bond between humans and nature. Dina works mainly in acrylic on canvas, with a refined yet dramatic blend of abstract and representational styles. Her work is full of symbolism and metaphor and visually expresses a deeper meaning beyond the image. Dina began her fine art career over 30 years ago, experimenting with a variety of media, participating in group shows and creating commissioned pieces. After earning her degree in Fashion Design in 1993 at FIDM, she began a successful design business in Los Angeles. Her return to painting full time followed a serious horseback riding accident that changed the course of her life and eventually led her to deepen her commitment to art. She spent 6 years living on the edge of the Wao Hele O Puna Rainforest in Hawaii before relocating to Tennessee. Her paintings have been featured in galleries and private collections in Hawaii, California, Oregon, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Amsterdam, and Jamaica, among other places. Dina now lives near Nashville; when not in the studio she enjoys life with her horses and dogs, and is active in a number of non-profit organizations.

KC HAXTON Born in Santa Cruz, California, Haxton traveled the country with his family, never living in one place for longer than a few months, and finally settling down in Ashland, Oregon at age fourteen. As a teenager KC became a sponsored amateur skateboarder, a carpenter and an architect’s apprentice. He then became a graphic artist and photographer, winning several statewide art contests. Early in 2002, KC bought a roll of canvas and some paints. He holed up in his garage, which he had transformed into a studio, and got to work. He painted constantly for weeks. His friends and family started to worry, but KC knew that art had to be made. One month later, KC sold his first painting. Then, he sold another one, and then another. Working primarily with acrylics and collage materials, KC loves to explore new styles and constantly improve on them. He begins a painting with a plan in place, but as he paints he allows in “bits of spontaneity along the way. His art has never been stationary, it is constantly changing and evolving as he explores. KC Haxton now lives and works in Los Angeles, California.

RANDY HIBBERD Randy Hibberd was born in Huntington Beach, California. At the age of 12, his family moved to Phoenix, AZ where he has lived ever since. As a child, Randy was always attracted to drawing, which eventually progressed to painting and expressing his innermost thoughts onto canvas. Upon graduating from high school, Hibberd enrolled at Arizona State University in Temple, Arizona. While in college he mastered a multitude of art classes. During his first two years of college, Hibberd apprenticed with two nationally known artists. As a student, Randy was fascinated by the power of color, and the ability to convey emotion—even without specific imagery. As his paintings evolved, he explored and experimented, adding more deliberate texture and depth to his pieces. Painting in his own studio since the year 2000, Hibberd has begun to achieve renown as an artist. His works can be found in many galleries across the United States, and also in many residential and corporate settings.

LIZ JARDINE As an undergraduate student at the State University of New York, Liz Jardine concentrated on textile design and clay forms. Upon graduation, she apprenticed at various textile and design studios in New York City, where her garment designs were sold at several designer boutiques. Returning to more traditional media, Jardine apprenticed with a graphic design studio and began freelancing as an illustrator and art director. This work paved her return to watercolors in florals, landscapes, still life and abstracts. Today, Jardine flourishes in varied media but especially favors acrylics for their textural and form-building abilities. Jardine’s appreciation for nature inspires her creativity. She paints from the heart, and believes her collectors can feel her love of the pigments and the composition.

LISA RIDGERS Lisa Ridgers was born in Shoreham-By-Sea on England’s South Coast. She spent part of her childhood living on the island of Majorca in the Mediterranean. For as long as Lisa can remember, the passion to create has always been with her. She began expressing this passion with drawing and sketching, and found herself selling her pencil sketch portraitures when she was only thirteen years old. Finishing her education in the United Kingdom, Lisa came to the United States as a “true-to-life Mary Poppins” English nanny. Her B.S. Degree in Finance and her inherent artistic ability became the perfect combination for a full-time creative career complemented with the strong business sense acquired during her years in sales and the mortgage business. Lisa has developed her own unique style using acrylic paints together with a range of mediums and techniques that, by their very contradiction, create a harmonious, fresh look. Ridgers’ multimedia works have been described as a fusion of bold organic palettes and natural elements, with a subject matter ranging from contemporary minimalist representations to vivid and earthy abstract landscapes.

PABLO ROJERO Pablo Rojero was born in Oceanside, California in 1974. After high school, Rojero attended art classes at Mira Costa Community College where he was inspired by old masters’ works in his art history class. He then pursued his study of painting at Otis College of Art & Design and Rhode Island School of Design. Once he developed solid painting skills at Rhode Island School of Design, Rojero returned to Otis College of Art & Design to prepare him to work in the motion picture industry in Hollywood. Rojero received his B.F.A. in 1998 and soon started working in Hollywood as a storyboard artist on independent films, and also as a production illustrator for the music video industry. He received an offer from a contemporary artist in San Diego to work in his art studio as an assistant. It was his first real exposure to the abstract painting process that allows him to be explosive, passionate and free with his creations. After a brief tenure as an artist assistant, Rojero became a freelance illustrator in 2000. Later he moved to Arizona and took a job as an in-house artist at a design company where he learned different painting techniques, and also about the interior design business. In 2007, he moved back to southern California and opened his own design studio.

NANCY CROWELL Nancy Crowell was born in Jackson, Mississippi. Sixteen years ago she moved to the waterfront town of La Conner, Washington and knew she had found the place she was meant to be. Nancy has edited a windsurfing magazine and traveled the world. She attended film school and became the second woman to win the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences paid internship in Cinematography. She worked in TV as a camera assistant, and has been a school and studio portrait photographer, and a writer. But the consistent thread throughout Nancy’s life has always been photography. “I have won awards and had successful shows, but nothing tops capturing a moment in time.” Nancy lives in a beautiful valley where she is inspired every day by the natural surroundings, the scenic farmlands and the bountiful flora.

AARON MATHESON Aaron Matheson was born in a two room log cabin about an hour south of Nashville. Art was very important to Aaron growing up. If he wasn’t outside he would go into his room and draw or paint for hours. When he was a teenager he got his first camera. He began to learn about photography, and it quickly took hold and became a passion. In 2005, Aaron enrolled in Nossi College of Art pursuing a degree in photography. At Nossi, Aaron met the friend who introduced Aaron to his second passion—rock climbing. Aaron quickly began merging his passion for photography with his passion for climbing, shooting images of both amateur and professional climbers and advertising images for the local climbing gym. After graduation, Aaron was hired to shoot product photography for a Nashville-based advertising agency and then went on to work for a well-known commercial photographer. In 2010, Aaron decided to turn his passion for climbing into a full-time job and began climbing radio and TV towers as a lighting technician. This job let Aaron travel all over the United States, and his camera was always with him at the top of the tower where he captured some of his most inspiring landscape and environmental images to date. In 2013, Aaron and his wife decided it was time for a change of scenery and moved to Seattle, WA to find new adventures in the Northwest, where they split their time between the city, the water and the mountains.
