A CULINARY JOURNEY THROUGH PALMA: FOOD
TOURS MALLORCA
A CULINARY JOURNEY THROUGH PALMA
Discovering the island’s best dishes can be an overwhelming task, so many choices, so little time! That’s where Food Tours Mallorca steps in, offering a seamless way to experience Palma’s top restaurants, one plate at a time
A Unique Dining Experience.
Food Tours Mallorca began not as a business idea, but as a passion project In November 2022, co-founder Emily was organising an event for a large cryptocurrency company. With 80 guests flying in from all over the world, she needed a way to break the ice. That’s when her friend and now business partner Michelle, suggested a concept she had perfected in Amsterdam: Walking Dinners, where each course is served at a different restaurant, with guests rotating tables for maximum mingling.

The event was an instant hit. Attendees raved about the experience, calling it one of the most engaging ways to explore a new city’s food scene That enthusiasm sparked an idea: “Why not make this a regular offering in Palma?”
And so, Food Tours Mallorca was born
Photography
These tours are designed to immerse guests in authentic, high-quality dining experiences Each self-guided tour leads participants through a carefully curated route in Palma Old Town or Santa Catalina, stopping at four top-rated restaurants At each venue, guests enjoy a signature gourmet dish paired with wine, all preselected to ensure a seamless and delightful culinary journey.
Using a custom-built web app, guests can navigate between stops at their own pace while discovering hidden corners of the city. Along the way, they’ll receive insights into Palma’s history, architecture, and culinary heritage, making the experience both delicious and educational The app also highlights interesting points throughout the tour, allowing participants to take in the city’s beauty while moving effortlessly from one dining experience to the next
One of the most important elements of Food Tours Mallorca is ensuring that each restaurant visit follows a carefully curated flow. It’s not just about picking great restaurants, it’s about ensuring the journey makes sense from a culinary perspective Every dish must complement the next, maintaining balance in portion size and flavors. One restaurant can’t serve a heavy main dish followed by a tiny appetizer at the next stop, the entire experience has to feel seamless and well-paced.
Each restaurant visit builds upon the previous one, offering a progression of flavors and textures that make the experience feel natural and satisfying
Our Food Tour Experience
First stop, Marina Bay, Palma. Our journey began at Marina Bay, where we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a breathtaking view of Palma’s harbor As we settled in, we were offered drinks and a moment to soak in the atmosphere We enjoyed fresh rosemary bread and six large garlic prawns, sizzling in a rich, flavorful sauce It was a perfect opener to our culinary adventure. With a glass of wine in hand, we knew we were in for something special.
Second Xalest, Palma Old Town
Next, we wandered into the foodie district of Palma’s Old Town to discover Xalest, a refined yet relaxed restaurant with earthy tones and a welcoming ambiance Here, we were served a melt-in-the-mouth beef cheek, slow-cooked to perfection, paired beautifully with a bold Mallorcan red wine The staff added a personal touch, asking if we had visited before and sharing insights into the dish
Tucked away, Pomelia felt like stepping into an intimate Sicilian wine cellar, with wooden tables crafted from wine crates and an effortlessly calm atmosphere. Here, we indulged in a delicate layered lasagna made with potato and courgette, paired with a stunning Sicilian wine Every element was thoughtfully prepared, with the staff taking time to explain the origins of the dish and its ingredients.
La Rosa Vermuteria – A Nostalgic Finish
For our final stop, we were transported back in time at La Rosa Vermuteria This charming, old-fashioned bar captured the spirit of traditional Spanish vermuterías, where locals gather over drinks and conversation. We finished on a sweet note with a Menorcan milk-baked cheesecake, a nostalgic and satisfying end to our adventure.
The beauty of this food tour wasn’t just in the incredible dishes, it was in the seamless flow of flavors, the discovery of hidden gems, and the ease of navigating Palma’s vibrant streets at our own pace.
The self-guided link made everything effortless, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in the experience without worrying about logistics.
How Restaurants Are Chosen
Food Tours Mallorca partners exclusively with restaurants they personally love. The selection process prioritises exceptional cuisine, a unique atmosphere, and outstanding service. The goal isn’t just to find great food but also to create a cohesive, well-paced menu.
Each tour starts with a light, fresh appetizer, followed by seafood, then a carefully portioned meat dish, and finally, a decadent dessert.
The route is designed to offer an effortless, scenic stroll between stops, avoiding backtracking and ensuring a smooth, relaxed experience With a wide selection of restaurant partners, the team can easily adjust routes based on restaurant availability, ensuring that each tour is top-tier no matter the season.
Food Tours Mallorca has evolved beyond its original Walking Dinner concept The Wine & Dine Tour, for example, offers a more intimate experience, ideal for couples, friends, and families. Recognizing the need for flexibility, the team pivoted to a selfguided format, allowing food lovers to embark on their own gourmet adventure without a guide
This innovative approach means tours run daily, with guests free to start whenever it suits them It also benefits local restaurants, helping them fill quieter hours and attract new customers. Even for those who have visited Palma many times before, the guided experience uncovers hidden culinary gems that even seasoned visitors may not have discovered.
For those who crave an effortless yet authentic culinary journey, Food Tours Mallorca delivers. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned local looking to discover new dining gems, these tours offer an unforgettable taste of Palma’s gastronomic landscape

LIFE: THE STORY OF A FAMILY BUSINESS
SOME BUSINESSES START WITH A PLAN OTHERS START WITH PASSION
In the heart of Portals, a skilled craftsman Manuel and a hotel cleaner, Isabel crossed paths Manuel was a master of his trade, shaping bespoke wooden interiors for the bars of Magaluf. Isabel was hardworking, dedicated and full of warmth Their connection was instant, and before long, they were not just building a life together, but a future for their family
With marriage came three daughters; Isabel, Inma and Laura, and with that, a decision was made that Isabel would not return to work at the hotel, but together, they would build something of their own
In 1984, Manuel and Isabel opened their first small store in Palma Nova, selling handmade furniture crafted with care and passion It wasn’t just about selling tables or chairs; it was about creating homes filled with pieces that told a story.
Though their Manuel no longer works from 8 AM to 2 AM as he once did, he still lends his touch to the business, ensuring that every piece holds the same warmth and heart that started it all.
From a love story to a family legacy, their journey is woven into every home they help create, because a home, like the best stories, is built with love, care, and a little bit of magic.
