It’s very hard to believe that we are already approaching the Christmas holidays. We have had to be quite inventive this year to ensure that our children still enjoy the festive season. One of Bushmead’s lovely traditions is a visit to a pantomime. The whole school go to the Cresset Theatre at Peterborough and have a fantastic day out. Obviously, this can’t take place as normal, so we have arranged for an interactive online pantomime, Aladdin, for our children. They will hopefully enjoy the usual pantomime fun and an ice cream. We are also being creative with our Christmas performances, which is such an important part of the year for the children and their associated families. We will, once again with the use of technology, deliver quality Christmas performances this year, all be it slightly differently! With help from Reverend Tim Robb, the vicar from St Marys Church in Eaton Socon, we were able to invite parents and members of the local community, including the residents of Nelson Lodge care home to an online remembrance service. Earlier this half term, we hosted our first parent’s evening of the academic year. This is a really important event, where parents meet their children’s teacher and find out how they have settled back into school. Obviously, this is even more important this year as children were out school for so long. These took place online and were very successful, again not as good as in person, but it is really good to have face to face communication. From all of the children and staff at Bushmead, I would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and I hope that 2021 brings the return of normality to all our lives.
