Nawin Nuthong is a Thai artist whose practice spans comics, artist's books, exhibitions, and artistic research. Rather than using comics simply as a storytelling medium, he approaches them as a tool for thinking—mapping ideas, testing relationships between images, and exploring themes of history, knowledge, memory, and simulation.
Created as part of Nawin's ongoing artistic research, Big Bad Tree follows recurring motifs—including trees, fish, water, and fountains—as they move across mythology, games, and popular culture. Using comics as a tool for exploration, the publication traces how narratives emerge through the relationships between images rather than predetermined stories.
