Middle & Senior School Terry Fox Walk/Run
Level I Excursions are those which take students to familiar settings within the local area for daytime activities which expose students to risks typically encountered in everyday living or while at school and which involve local transportation either by walking, subway, city bus, school bus, or taxi Examples of Level I Excursions: trips to museums, local parks, a local store or neighbourhood, a library, an art studio, a concert hall, a theatre, another school, or an athletic facility Parental consent for Level I Excursions is given at the beginning of each school year

YORK’S 32nd ANNUAL TERRY FOX WALK/RUN 2025
On Friday, September 26 students accompanied by Middle and Senior School faculty will walk to the David Balfour Park and Reservoir
Run Times:
Grades will be staggered in their arrivals and runs with the Grade 6s at 2 pm up until Grade 12s at 3:15 pm.
Middle School (Grades 6-8) students will be walked back to The York School for dismissal from homeroom at 3:25 pm Senior School (Grades 9-12) will be dismissed directly from David Balfour Park at 3:30 pm.

David A Balfour Park & Reservoir (near intersection of Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue West)
Students will walk to the David A Balfour Park & Reservoir in their Period 3 and 4 class teachers and then take part in The York School’s Terry Fox Walk/Run This is a school wide event that supports our physical and health education programme Students will participate in a warm-up, walk/run and some Terry Fox specific activities

Special Considerations and What to Bring
Sun Protection: Where a trip involves your child being outside between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, or the UV rating is predicted to be 3 or greater, parents are reminded to provide children with the following: sunscreen, hat and water bottle. Sunglasses that protect against UV-A and UV-B rays are also recommended
