letter from the Editor

I am Valencia Lee, also known as "The Write Genius." I am the Founder and Editor of Super Human Magazine. Over the years, I have encountered some of the most gifted and skillful individuals. I wanted to create a platform highlighting entrepreneurs, entertainers, and creatives. This magazine also includes articles based on mental health, news, and current events that uplift and encourage minority communities.

This edition is special to me because it consists of two powerful and influential black women from different backgrounds who found their way to achieving their goals and success. They thrive on motivating and mentoring other women to serve their purpose. Also included in this edition are other influential and impressive individuals, who understand the assignment of being "Super Human.”

“Super Humans have mastery over their emotions. They find joy in simply existing and creating, above all else.”

Unraveling The Link Between Inflation And Mental Health: Shedding Light On The Unseen Victims

Inflation's impact on the economy is often discussed in terms of rising prices and diminishing purchasing power. However, the consequences of this economic phenomenon extend far beyond simple budgetary constraints. One often overlooked aspect is the toll it takes on individuals' mental wellbeing. Financial strain resulting from inflation can lead to a profound sense of anxiety, stress, and hopelessness. When faced with increased costs for basic necessities such as housing, food, and healthcare, individuals grapple with mounting financial burdens that can trigger a cascade of negative emotions.

Mental Health
19

As the gap between socioeconomic classes widens, individuals from marginalized communities often bear the brunt of financial hardships. This inequality exacerbates stress levels and contributes to higher rates of anxiety and depression within these populations. By unraveling the link between inflation and mental health, we can shed light on these unseen victims who silently suffer from the consequences of rising prices.

The correlation between economic trends and mental health has become increasingly evident, particularly during economic inflation. As inflation rises, so does the prevalence of anxiety and depression stemming from the everyday struggles of living. Nearly 90% of Americans say they are frightened or very anxious about inflation, up 8% from the previous month, according to the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) Healthy Minds Monthly Poll data. The APA study also found that more than 50% of Americans are concerned about a potential loss of income despite inflation being at a 40-year high.

Effective Coping Strategies

Firstly, it is important to practice financial mindfulness by creating a budget and tracking expenses to gain a sense of control over our finances This can reduce anxiety and prevent the feeling of being overwhelmed by increasing prices

Additionally, fostering a supportive social network is crucial during such times. Connecting with friends, family, or support groups can provide emotional support and create a sense of belonging in challenging economic circumstances. Engaging in regular physical exercise has also been proven to boost mood and reduce stress levels.

Furthermore, focusing on self-care activities such as practicing mindfulness or meditation can help alleviate anxiety related to financial concerns Taking breaks from news or social media platforms that constantly highlight rising prices may also contribute positively to mental well-being

BREAKING BREAKING GENERATIONAL GENERATIONAL CURSES CURSES

The concept of a generational curse is commonly associated with cultural and religious beliefs and can vary depending on the specific cultural context. It is believed that certain behaviors, such as addiction, abuse, poverty, or unhealthy relationship patterns, can be passed down through generations, affecting the lives of individuals within a family.

25

To break a generational curse, individuals or families acknowledge and take responsibility for the negative patterns that have been perpetuated across generations. This involves recognizing and understanding the underlying causes and influences contributing to these patterns. It may require seeking therapy, counseling, or other professional help to address and heal from past traumas.

Breaking a generational curse also involves committing to conscious choices and adopting healthier behaviors and beliefs. This may require unlearning negative thought patterns and adopting new values and practices that promote personal growth, resilience, and well-being. It often involves setting boundaries, practicing selfcare, and cultivating positive relationships.

Breaking a generational curse is a gradual and ongoing process that requires self-reflection, self-awareness, and a willingness to break free from the limitations of the past. It requires individuals to challenge and change inherited beliefs and behaviors, paving the way for a more positive and empowered future for themselves and future generations.

Dream

She walked the walk and talked the talk, but the world hated her She praised him and raised them, but the world hated her. She showed up and showed out, but the world hated her. She remained encouraged with no doubts, but the world hated her. She fought the good fight that people fight, she would laugh throughout the day and pray every night. You never knew how she felt, sometimes she felt she knew why Jesus wept, but the world hated her. She gave her last, and people never knew. It used to make her mad, and then she grew. I know she might sound a little like you. Yea, this is hitting home for me, too! Since she blossomed, she learned to fly. When they put her down, her spirit rise. Sometimes, you could see it in her eyes, she finally saw that the world gave up, and it made her cry. History had nothing to do with hers, and God always kept his word. As you grow, time allows things to make sense. We don't have a choice where we are born, but we do on how it ends!

THE Songwriters E d i t i o n

She sat in her chair and thought to herself, she talk to herself, but no answer. She didn't receive any suggestion, comments nothing! All she could do was write, and what came out made the world wonder. It made her parents wonder, and most of all, it made me wonder. Hi, I'm the songwriter ,nice to meet you!

Is a child I quickly learned that every human wasn't as cool, smart, or charming as they put out to be. Basically the world was a fake vessel, and the issues one carried was merely from the things they experienced since they been here. Hi, I'm the songwriter, thanks for reading my story! Some say im called, I say I carry a huge burden and those are the thoughts i have that you think you may wanna know and then get offended by later, yea, that part! So many times I attempted to write my story, but it just wasnt time! I always drop the ball due to life's happening or happiness. I have been a songbird my entire life and a writer since I was 14. Developing this skill was a process that would change my life, that would take time ,not to practice ,but to live, so I could tell you my story. Most artist take a lifetime to do that well I don't have long so let's start here!

33

Time is something we all share, and BLOOD IS ONE THING WE ALL HAVE! It's the energy for me! The way the stain is left on the page and interpreted by the reader! I learned at a young age that people understand things based on their perceptions and experiences.

As a young lady, I was taught to speak my mind and not allow intimidation to corrupt my thoughts. I fell in love with music, sitting in my room, listening to my story, and writing about how I felt! I started singing in the youth choir at church! Later, that turned into an occasion, and then we sang the music we sang as a choir! I loved it! Dealing with people hasn't brought me the best of luck, but I have learned quite a bit! I have always been a Goghetta! When I was born, my greatgreats called me JackaPot, and that's how JackPot was born! I'm a country girl, where they say get it out of the mud. Well, where I'm from, we practically grew everything we ate and caught! We didn't have the luxury of street lights, and we actually experienced the outhouses and meat shacks when we were born! That's right, 80s baby!

Being from my era and growing up in that particular generation has been an honor. We have already seen so much in history that the old or the new generations have not. I want you to be encouraged and believe in who we are as a people. Learn how to stand and be united. I remember how we used to use music to send messages and secrets and politics! Well, this is my song, and I hope you are here to listen! Unification is the destination, just as God is love! I need a Chorus, any volunteers because we are about to make some beautiful music!
