Through March 17, 2024, The Wright Contemporary is playing host to a trio of stunning shows."Terrie Mangat: Quilts" is an overview of the artist's diverse adventures in fabric - from patterns based on traditional designs to raucous abstractions to pictorial quilts that reference the Taos landscape. Helen Gene Nichol's "Sections," in the Wright Office, exists in a rare space, somewhere between in-your-face and soothingly hallucinogenic and, though realized on the computer, are based on random details she runs across in the real world. And Jennie Kiessling's series in The Project Space "when the night is not blue," is a daily meditation on the unfolding horrors in Gaza, realized in the most modest of materials-gouache, tape, pencil, and shopping bags.
