JULY 2015

Produced for the community, by the community

Unique Roller skating fundraiser The Woodend Community Association is holding a unique roller skating fundraising event in the Woodend Community Centre, funds raised are going towards the Woodend Beach Pathway project which covers 3.8km from Woodend town to Woodend Beach. The event is being held on Saturday 25th of July and is titled roller Skating with Phat SK8. Children are encouraged to “Get their glow on” by wearing their brightest and loudest clothes and accessories for the 2 hours of music, games and prizes from 3:30pm.

Organiser Jacqui Miller says the event is suitable for children aged 5 to 13 years, the cost is $8.00 per child, all skates and safety gear are provided and caregivers are required to attend. Food and drinks will be available for children to purchase and coffee for caregivers. Tickets can be purchased on the day or in advance from the 20th July at Woodend School Office (Cash only). “We need to raise a significant amount of money for the pathway project, but fundraising doesn’t need to be boring, especially with the help of Ingrid from Phat Sk8!!” Says Miller.

“Rollerskating is an ideal activity in our Community Centre and a great way to spend a wintry afternoon.”

“Every contribution counts towards our final goal, you can follow the progress of the pathway project on facebook by ‘liking’ our Cycle/Walkway Project Woodend Beach Road or donate a little or on www.givealittle.co.nz.” If you would like to learn more about this event, or are available to lend a hand please contact Jacqui Miller on 021 890 358.
