One thing we do in Senior Adult Ministry is to celebrate longevity. In fact, we define our ministry as “reaching those who are 55 or more years of age.” We are grateful for the gift of years, the gift of longevity. And we are grateful for those who celebrate longevity in many ways. Within this issue of our newsletter you will see a list of Senior Adults who have been married for 50 or more years. So, during this month of valentines, we congratulate them and celebrate the longevity of marriage. It is a blessing to honor those who have honored the marriage covenant for so long. You will also see pictured some of our long-time volunteers. So, we also celebrate the fact that we have many wonderful volunteers who have served in different areas for a long time. We celebrate the longevity of their service to the various ministries of our church. One of our special volunteers recently retired from one area of service. Joyce Nesmith has led the group of ladies called OK Quilters for a number of years. Under Joyce’s leadership this group has made many quilts and other items to benefit the sick and shut-in and those who need encouragement. With the assistance of her husband Ken, Joyce has provided wonderful leadership to this group and we salute her and thank her for her longevity of service to OK Quilters. Longevity is a good word meaning long duration of a life, permanence, durability, a long length of service. It is a blessing to be associated with so many friends in our ministry who not only have lived a long life but also have filled their many years with service to others and service to our Lord and to his church. So, congratulations to those who celebrate the longevity of their marriage and congratulations to those who celebrate the longevity of their service as a volunteer. Through God’s grace may you be granted many more years of love of one another and of service to Christ and the church. Your friend,

Chuck Davis and Doreen Boaz
