REGISTRATION

Program registration is open on a first come, first served basis. Early registration is encouraged. Registration on event day not permitted unless space and supplies allow.

CLASS MINIMUMS AND MAXIMUMS

All programs must meet a minimum number of participants to be held. If an event is full, be sure to sign up for the waiting list, new programs may be added to meet demand.

REFUND POLICY

• Full refunds will be given to participants who have registered for a class or program that has been cancelled by The Woodlands Township.

• If the participant requests a refund more than three (3) days prior to the start of any class or program, one day class or program or recurring class or program, they will receive a full refund less a $5.00 service charge.

• If the participant attends the first day of class or program and for any reason is not satisfied, they will receive a full refund less the $5.00 processing fee.

• Participants must submit a refund request prior to the second class/program meeting. After the second day of class/program, NO refunds will be available.

• Fees associated with online transactions are not refundable.

• No cash refunds are given. A refund check may take up to four weeks to process and receive.

The Parks & Recreation Department complies with Title II Standards of the American with Disabilities Act.

WAIVER REQUIRED

All guests and participants must sign a waiver to participate in any Township program. Waivers must be acknowledged during the registration process prior to participation. Please see page 35 for the waiver.

WATER EGG HUNT, Ages 4 to 12

Egg hunt in the pool! Games, candy, goodie bags, free swim and fun!

Fee (Per Child): $20 Resident; $25 Non-Resident

FLASHLIGHT EGG HUNTS, All Ages

Amp up the fun by hunting in the dark for eggs! Bring your flashlights and baskets for an egg hunt to remember! Fee includes egg hunt and a visit from the Bunny. Special prize for finding the golden egg! (Ages 5 and under hunt on soccer field; Ages 6 and up hunt in hills.)

KAYAK EGG HUNT, All Ages

Take your traditional egg hunt to the water with this unique opportunity to hunt for eggs by kayak! Eggs will be “hidden” along the waterway. Join us after the event for an egg-citing surprise. Preregistration is required! Register at www.rivarowboathouse.com

TEXAS TREEVENTURES

Texas TreeVentures is an aerial adventure course located in The Woodlands, Texas on the campus of The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park. The course is directly adjacent to the George Mitchell Nature Preserve, home to Spring Creek, wildlife and a wooded trail system.

The Texas TreeVentures course is a non-linear “challenge-by choice” series of challengebased obstacles and elements. Designed for both youth and adults (subject to age and weight restrictions), the three-level aerial adventure course features nearly 100 challenging elements and is the perfect place to take your family and friends as well as push yourself to new heights!

Enjoy an afternoon of racing and crawfish at the annual Muddy Trails 5K and Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-Off! This familyfriendly event features a chip-timed 5K course, winding through the beautiful George Mitchell Nature Preserve situated on 1,800 wooded acres adjacent to Rob Fleming Park, along with a festive Post-Race Party including live zydeco music, the Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-Off, children’s activities and more.

A tradition in The Woodlands for over 15 years, this sprint distance triathlon is best known for its beginner-friendly atmosphere, superior organization and festive Post-Race Party. Participants have a variety of opportunities to prepare for Race Day with pre-race clinics as well as in-depth race review and first-timer’s programs!

Saturday, May 4, 2024 | Northshore Park | 8 to 10 a.m.

Practice open water swimming for a 500-meter swim triathlon! No instruction provided. Walk-up registration welcome. Participants can swim the course as much as needed during the allotted time. Last swimmer in the water at 9:30 a.m.

WILDERNESS FIRST AID, Ages 14+

This 16-hour Wilderness First Aid Course is an educational resource for those involved in activities that take them beyond the boundaries of traditional urban emergency medical serves. Hikers, backpackers, kayakers, canoeists, fisherman, and victims of natural disaster often find themselves in situations where definitive medical care is delayed more than 30 minutes. This course is approved by the American Camping Association, Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts of America, various youth groups and youth camps. Two-year certification issued upon successful completion of class.

TREATMENT OF BLISTERS AND ANKLE INJURIES, Ages 14+

Students will learn/practice methods of ankle support using KTtape, sports tape, duct tape, SAM splints along various boot lacing techniques and more. Learn the necessary methods and techniques to properly diagnose and treat Hypothermia & Hyperthermia when recreating outdoors. This presentation will use lecture/discussion and hands-on practice to develop your ability and confidence to spot and treat these life-threatening illnesses using what is available to you. Participants should wear comfortable seasonal clothing and be prepared to practice the various techniques on one another. This is not a certification course.

FALCONWING COURTS

Falconwing Dedicated Pickleball Courts NOW OPEN!

Heard about the Falconwing Pickleball Complex but want to know more about it?

This complex opened in July of 2023 and is the home to eight (8) stand-alone pickleball courts. Courts are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The pickleball courts follow the same rules as other courts in The Woodlands and are open for public use, but users without reservations must yield the court to permit holders and scheduled programming.

Reserve a Court Courts can be reserved over the phone at 281-516-7348 or 281-210-3950. They can also be reserved online by scanning the QR code!

Please make note of posted park rules and be mindful of residents that live near the courts.

NEW TO BEAR BRANCH PARK

Covered Multi-Use Court

Courts of all sorts! The multi-use court at Bear Branch Park is now an all-weather facility. This 11,000 square foot adaptable space, that is home to 5 pickleball courts, futsal, hockey, and lacrosse is now COVERED!

Residents Non-Residents $35 per hour $70 per hour

Sprayground

A state-of-the-art sprayground is set to open for the season March 1, 2024, at Bear Branch Park. This 4,000 square foot sprayground is the newest family friendly attraction to The Woodlands.

Team up with friends, family, or your organization to volunteer at one of the Parks and Recreation Department special events. This is a great way to give back to the community, earn volunteer credits, and enjoy events from a behind the scenes perspective. HOST A PROGRAM

Do you have a passion you want to share with the community? The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department partners with individuals in our community to host classes at the Recreation Centers and local parks. WAIVER AND RELEASE FORM

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in any program, activity or event, (referred to herein as the “Program”) sponsored by, performed by, or in any way involving The Woodlands Township, I, as Participant, or if Participant is a minor, as parent or guardian of the minor Participant (herein referred to as “I”) and intending to be legally bound do hereby acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. I hereby waive, discharge, and release any and all rights and claims for damages whether based upon negligence or any other theory of law, which I, or my child, heirs, agents, representatives, or assigns may have against The Woodlands Township, and its affiliates, agents, representatives, assigns, or successors including, without limitation,: any officers, directors, shareholders, agents and/or employees of or associated with The Woodlands Township, the municipalities or counties in or through which the programs or events take place or are conducted, as well as any other person, entity or sponsor connected with the Program and any of their affiliates, agents, representatives, assigns, successors, officers, directors, shareholders, and employees, for any and all injuries or damages which I, or my child, may suffer while taking part in the Program.

2. I hereby assume any and all of the foregoing risks resulting from my, or my child’s, participation in the Program and accept all personal responsibility for any resulting damage including, but not limited to, injury, permanent disability or death.

3. I hereby verify that I, or my child, am/is in good physical health and able to participate in and/or complete the Program.

4. I hereby agree and understand the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk(s) of participation in the programs, services, events or facilities operated by The Woodlands Township which include the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19.

5. I HEREBY AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD THE WOODLANDS TOWNSHIP HARMLESS FROM AND AGAINST ALL LIABILITIES FOR ANY INJURY WHICH MAY BE SUFFERED BY THE PARTICIPANT ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH HIS/HER PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM.

6. I have read and fully understood this Waiver and Release. I further understand that by participating in the Program, I/we will have waived substantial rights.

7. I have knowingly and voluntarily agreed to this Waiver and Release.

FOR PARENTS OF PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18

I affirm and acknowledge that I, as parent/guardian with legal responsibility for the Participant, do consent and agree to his/her release as provided by the Waiver and Release herein.

MEDIA/PHOTO WAIVER:

I hereby authorize and give my full consent to The Woodlands Township and their agents and assigns to take, copyright and/or publish any and all photographs, videotapes and/or film (the “Media”) in which I, or my child, may appear while participating in the Program. I further authorize that The Woodlands Township to transfer, use or cause to be used, the Media in any exhibitions, public displays, publications, commercials, art and advertising purposes, without limitations or reservations.
