REGISTRATION

Program registration is open on a first come, first served basis. Early registration is encouraged. Registration on event day not permitted unless space and supplies allow.

CLASS MINIMUMS AND MAXIMUMS

All programs must meet a minimum number of participants to be held. If an event is full, be sure to sign up for the waiting list; new programs may be added to meet demand.

REFUND POLICY

i. Full refunds will be given to participants who have registered for a class or program that has been cancelled by The Woodlands Township.

ii. If the participant requests a refund more than three (3) days prior to the start of any class or program, one-day class or program or recurring class or program, they will receive a full refund less a $5.00 service charge.

iii. If the participant attends the first day of class or program and for any reason is not satisfied, they will receive a full refund less the $5.00 processing fee.

iv. Participants must submit a refund request prior to the second class/program meeting. After the second day of class/program, NO refunds will be available.

v. Fees associated with online transactions are not refundable.

vi. No cash refunds are given. A refund check may take up to four weeks to process and receive.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department welcomes people of all ability levels to enjoy and participate in its wide variety of quality programs and services. Questions regarding special accommodations should be directed to recreation staff at 281-210-3950. The Parks and Recreation Department complies with Title II Standards of the American with Disabilities Act.

WAIVER REQUIRED

All guests and participants must sign a waiver to participate in any Township program. Waivers must be acknowledged during the registration process prior to participation. Please see page 28 for the waiver.

Relive the simple life with our family campout. Activities include archery, kayaking, crafts, outdoor movie, night hikes, games, campfire and s’mores. Tents will be on the field and activities throughout the park in the amphitheater, trails and open space. The experience is priceless!

HAUNTED ARCHERY CHALLENGE, Ages 8+

Monsters have come out of the George Mitchell Nature Preserve! Help us save the range and learn a little about archery on the way. This hour and a half class will include archery instruction and a spooky game to practice the skills you have learned.

TANDEM TRICK-OR-TREAT, All Ages (Recommended 10 and Under)

Take your trick-or-treating to the water! Paddle a tandem kayak around the lower Waterway to collect treats from costumed characters. Costumes are encouraged! Pre-registration required. Fee: $45 per tandem kayak (admission for two people and candy for one child)

FLASHLIGHT CANDY CANE HUNTS, Ages 5+

Someone jolly sprinkled the grounds at the park with sweet treats to hunt in the dark! Bring your flashlights to help us find them! Prizes will be awarded to the candy cane hunters who find the “golden” candy canes. Parents must accompany children (no charge for adults). Please note, hunts begin 15 minutes after the start time.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE MAKING WITH SANTA, Ages 3+

Build and decorate a gingerbread house with gum drops, peppermints, frosting and more! Parent or guardian participation required. Each enrollment receives one gingerbread house to decorate.

ELVES AND ARROWS, Ages 9+

JINGLE BOATS, All Ages

ELF ON THE SHELF SCAVENGER HUNT, Ages 4+

Mischievous holiday elves have found refuge along the forested trails. Discover them all using a trail map, scavenger hunt, and educational signage.

DANCE PHENOMENON WITH SHELLA SATTLER

Private dance instruction by Shella Sattler. Shella is former cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys, LA Clippers, and Dallas Mavericks, dancer for MC Hammer, instructor for National Cheer-leading Association, and choreographer for former first lady “Let’s Move” campaign. TODDLER TIME, Ages Crawling to Preschool

Toddler Time allows kids to socialize before preschool and allows parents to socialize with other toddler parents. Parent supervision is required. No Toddler Time during the weeks of Thanksgiving or Christmas Break.

YOUNG REMBRANDTS DRAWING, Ages 4 to 6

Let your young artist get excited learning the basics of drawing, empowering them to draw anything they imagine! Each week they will practice their skills with interesting new drawings to boost their confidence and mastery.

YPS THEATRE CLASS FOR KIDS, Ages 6 to 12

By participating in theater games and ensemble performances your child can gain confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills! Students will learn to use their body, voice, and imagination while they develop a passion for performance. *No Class Thanksgiving Week

Give your kid the chance to enhance their academic skills with the Young Rembrandt’s experience. New drawings each and every class will boost their imagination and challenge their brain to work and expand! Watch your child’s confidence and skills grow with each class!

YOUNG REMBRANDTS: ARTVENTURE THANKSGIVING BREAK CAMP, Ages 8 to 12

Children will create masterpieces featuring ocean life with PASTELS and the regular YR media. An opportunity to benefit from Young Rembrandts’ step by step methodology, boost skills and confidence, and enjoy the break with friends (invite them all!). Please wear clothes that are easily washed.

Learn footwork, technical instruction and bouting. All equipment provided for the first two months.

The ultimate lacrosse introduction program. Kids will learn the fundamentals of lacrosse while having fun! They’ll learn lots of skills and get tons of exercise – all while they have the stick in their hand! Curriculum is specifically for the young athletes. No experience necessary.

FUNDAMENTALS FIRST BASKETBALL CLASS, Ages Second to Sixth Grade

The Fundamentals First Class teaches your player the principles of basketball and the importance of teamwork in a fun, supportive environment led by an experienced local coach. The players will learn the ABC’s of the game, along with basic concepts of ball-handling, shooting, and fundamental footwork.

SOCCER SHOTS, Ages 2 to 8

Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s soccer program with a focus on skill and character development. Our caring team positively impacts children’s lives on and off the field through best-in-class coaching, curriculum and communication. Our weekly sessions include a warm-up, skill and character word of the week, fun games, goal scoring and a scrimmage. Our age-appropriate curriculum teaches children basic and advanced technical skills in a fun and encouraging environment.

FURY MINI SLUGGERS, Ages 4 to 6

Learn the fundamentals of T-ball including catching, throwing and running the bases. Participants must bring their own mitt.

Stay competitive with instruction from a professional coach. Learn the basics and fundamentals of baseball, focusing on hitting and pitching. Bring your mitt and bat.

YOUTH SPEED AND ENDURANCE, Ages 5 to 12

Team Green Running will provide the essentials to establish a solid base and ensure each athlete will have the ability to develop their running speed and endurance.

TGA GOLF: PARENT CHILD CLINIC, All Ages

Parents, come learn the game with your child! Unique curriculum that caters to both the parent and the child. Join us every Saturday in the fall. Fee (8-week session): $250 Resident; $260 Non-Resident

TGA GOLF, AFTER SCHOOL CLINIC, Ages 4 to 10

TGA’s five-level program makes it convenient and fun for your child to learn and play golf right in their local communities! While learning how to play golf, students will also be learning the rules and etiquette of the game.

KARATE-TAE KWON DO WITH TRAVIS LEE, Ages 8 to 13

Participants should wear comfortable seasonal clothing and be prepared to practice the various techniques on one another. This is not a certification course.

This class teaches foundations of archery using USA approved instructional methods. Archers will get to enjoy both focused instruction as well as games that make it fun for all! Classes are taught in 6-week courses. Equipment is provided.

POKEMON SCAVENGER HUNT, Ages 4+

Pokemon and their spirit animals are hiding on the trail. Search and learn about them all using a trail map, scavenger hunt and educational signage.

FLY CASTING – PRIVATE LESSONS, Ages 14+

These lessons are designed for someone who has participated in our Group Lessons or has previous fly-casting experience. It is an excellent way to build on previous casting experience while working on distance, line management and various ‘presentation’ casts. You may bring your own equipment or use ours. You will need comfortable, season-appropriate clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen and be prepared to have some fun!

Fee: Individual $40/hour Resident; $50/hour Non-Resident
