Dear Friends of Wolf, If you are reading our 2025-2026 Annual Report, I have a feeling that I won’t have to explain this year’s theme to you, you already understand what it means to be Proudly Wolf. It’s a phrase that captures so much of what makes The Wolf School special — the pride our students have in who they are, the pride our families have in their children, and the pride we all share in being part of this extraordinary community.

From Anna: A Message from our Head of School

While our school has grown substantially since we first opened our doors in 1999 with only 3 students, we have always been proudly Wolf. Because the very idea of The Wolf School came to be from a family and a small group of professionals who were tired of Complex Learners being overlooked and underestimated. They worked hard to create an opportunity where they could be authentically and proudly themselves. And thanks to you, that idea has grown into a nationally renowned school. And we’re not done growing. This work doesn’t happen alone. It happens because of the extraordinary people who believe in Wolf and show up for our students in so many ways. Together, we are changing what is possible for Complex Learners and helping them feel ready to take on the world. This year, we welcomed 19 new graduates into our alumni community, bringing our total graduates to 215. Over two hundred alumni are now out in the world making it a better place with their kindness and compassion, still using the tools and strategies they learned here at Wolf to succeed, and, of course, still proudly Wolf. Thank you for being part of what makes Wolf so special. Thank you for believing in our students, for celebrating their unique strengths, and for helping us create a place where every Complex Learner can feel proud of who they are. Wolf in Action: A Look At Our Year

Gus, The Therapy Dog Adaptive Music Collaborative

In January, The Wolf School was thrilled to welcome Adaptive Music Collaborative to Wolf to work with all of our students once a month through the month of May. Adaptive Music Collaborative is a local nonprofit that creates inclusive music experiences for children. Along with bringing lots of fun, their sessions worked on building confidence, focus, and connection through hands-on activities centered on rhythm, movement, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. With an emphasis on exploration instead of performance, it was an incredible experience that allowed all of our students to shine and explore music in a new and exciting way! We’re grateful to Adaptive Music Collaborative for bringing their inclusive, joyful approach to our community.

Between horseback riding, visits from the Roger Williams Zoo Mobile, countless classroom pets, and so much more - it’s safe to say there are many animal lovers at Wolf and plenty of opportunities to explore this interest! That’s why, when the opportunity presented itself this year to have Gus, a certified therapy dog, and his owner, Margot, of the Hamilton School at Wheeler, visit The Wolf School, we just couldn’t pass it up! As Director of Auxiliary Programs, Meg Sutton, puts it, “there’s something so special about the calming presence of animals - they have a way of making everything else feel okay. So many of our students are animal lovers, and this is something they can truly relate to and share together.” Throughout the year, Gus stopped by each of our classrooms for visits with our students. Whether they were reading to Gus, helping him practice tricks, or just sitting calmly with him, Gus brightened our students day by fostering connection, reducing stress, and building confidence.

Growing, Connecting, & Thriving Stop Motion Animation Each school year, the Sean Reardon “Be Radical” Enrichment Program brings hands-on, exciting, and engaging lessons and programs to Wolf School students! This past school year kicked off with a 6-week Stop-Motion Animation Experience, with visiting artist and former Wolf School art teacher, Keri King. With lessons crafted to fit each classroom’s needs, students dove right into these fun, hands-on lessons as they got creative with a new type of medium. Over the 6-weeks, students explored a variety of animation techniques and used fun, tactile materials to create their own short movie projects. To end the 6-week program, students enjoyed a special screening during All School Assembly where they were able to share their work with friends while getting a chance to view the creations of their classmates.

19 Graduates

With one of our largest graduating classes to date, the Class of 2026 ended the school year on a high note as 19 graduates crossed the stage and officially became part of our alumni community! It’s hard to believe that with these 19 students, we now have over 200 alumni students. It was an incredible night as we celebrated the accomplishments and growth of 19 very special students as they prepare to head on to high school. Some of the high schools these graduates will be attending include Willow Hill, The Wolf Academy at St. Andrew’s, the Bishop Hendricken Options Program, The Cotting School, The Greenwood School, and School One.

Wolf in Action: A Look At Our Year

Trustee Visiting Day

In November, we welcomed members of The Wolf School Board of Trustees for our first-ever Wolf School Trustee Visiting Day. Our 17 Trustees—including community members, past parents, and professionals—are dedicated to ensuring the continued success of The Wolf School and supporting the students, staff, and community who make Wolf so special. During Trustee Visiting Day, Board members joined us for a special All School Assembly before spending time in classrooms, meeting staff and students, and seeing firsthand the inspiring work and vibrant community they help support. The day was also a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn more about what it means to give back to a cause or organization that is close to your heart.

3D Printer

After receiving a generous grant to support new programming opportunities at Camp Confidence, Director of Auxiliary Programs Meg Sutton was thrilled to bring new and exciting learning experiences to The Wolf School. One of the most highly anticipated new purchases was a 3D printer. With this new piece of technology, our students have the incredible opportunity to design something from start to finish—from the very first sketch to the finished product. Most importantly, this new technology gives our students the chance to explore, experiment, and build confidence with innovative tools, opening the door to new possibilities for creativity, problem-solving, and learning.

Growing, Connecting, & Thriving The Start of Something BIG

After four years of planning, preparation, and thoughtful work behind the scenes, we are thrilled to have broken ground this June on a major building expansion project at Wolf! This is a significant milestone for our school and one that reflects our continued commitment to creating the best possible learning environment for our students. The goal of this facility expansion is to enhance programming for all current and future students and to better support our growing community where our students learn, grow, and thrive. Not only will this expansion provide additional classroom spaces, but the plans include the addition of a theater/performing arts space, another Sensory Arena, classrooms for art, music, and STEM programming, outdoor classroom spaces, and administrative office/meeting spaces.

Sensory Arena Upgrade

Thanks to a generous grant from the Fred M. Roddy Foundation, our beloved Sensory Arena got a fresh makeover this year with exciting updates, including a new rock wall, new flooring, new equipment and mats, new lighting, and a fresh coat of paint. Our state-of-the-art sensory arena provides an area for movement and learning for our students and with these exciting new updates, our students can benefit even more from this space. As Occupational Therapist, Becca (Olivo) Sarah shares, “Our Sensory Arena is one of our students’ favorite places at Wolf. As such a beloved space, we were excited to get a chance to give it a refresh. Now, with these new updates, our Sensory Arena can continue to help regulate our students to build skills and maximize their learning!”

After Wolf: Alumni Profile Mitchel Brigido

For many Wolf School alumni, their connection to Wolf extends far beyond their years at the school. The relationships, skills, confidence, and sense of belonging they develop during their time at Wolf often become an important part of their story. This is certainly true for Mitchel Brigido, who attended The Wolf School from 2002–2006. Although now an adult with a life of his own, Mitchel remains proudly Wolf and deeply connected to the school that played such an important role in his educational journey. Mitchel began his time at Wolf in third grade. Like many students entering a new school, he remembers feeling a little shy and unsure on his first day. But those feelings did not last long. By the end of that first day, Mitchel recalls “feeling better” as he became more familiar with his teachers, classmates, and new surroundings. Before long, Wolf became a place where he felt comfortable, supported, and part of a community. That sense of community is one of the things Mitchel remembers most about his time at Wolf. While he has many fond memories from his four years at the school, including horseback riding, it was the feeling of belonging that left one of the greatest impressions on him. Looking back, Mitchel says that what he misses most about Wolf is “the feeling of community.”

For Mitchel, Wolf was an educational environment that recognized his individual strengths and needs and provided him with the tools to succeed. As Mitchel explains, “Wolf helped me through small groups and a personalized learning style.” Among the lessons that have stayed with him are the speech and language skills he developed at Wolf, including learning how sounds can differ and how those sounds are represented through different spellings. These foundational skills became an important part of his continued learning and helped prepare him for what came next after Wolf.

For high school, Mitchel attended St. Andrew’s School in Barrington, Rhode Island. His experience at St. Andrew’s allowed Mitchel to build on the foundation he had developed at Wolf. Rather than simply preparing him for his next school, Wolf had helped him develop the skills and confidence he needed to navigate new challenges. Reflecting on his journey, Mitchel believes that Wolf prepared him “to succeed in high school and beyond.” Today, Mitchel manages Trackers Ice Cream & Confections, a beloved ice cream and confectionery shop in North Scituate. For Mitchel, one of the most rewarding parts of his work is simple: “making people happy.” And while Mitchel’s time as a student at Wolf ended nearly two decades ago, Mitchel (pictured centered) attends Discover the Difference 2013 as an alumni student. his relationship with the school certainly did not. Twenty years later, he continues to stay connected to The Wolf School and to the community that supported him during his formative years. For Mitchel, being involved as an alumni student is an opportunity to remain part of a community unlike any other. One of the ways Mitchel stays connected is by attending Wolf ’s annual Discover the Difference event. Why stay connected to Wolf? Mitchel says the answer is simple - “it feels great to be included and to give back after receiving so much support.” From a shy third grader, to now a confident young man, Mitchel’s life has been shaped by his time at Wolf. From that first day to now, he remains proudly Wolf.
