2003 KFT는 캐나다 내의 향토기업과의 파 트너쉽을 존중하는 기업철학과 사회 적 책임을 다하는 기업문화를 배경으 로 2003년 11월, 갤러리아슈퍼마켓을 출범하였습니다. 창립초기부터 KFT와 갤러리아슈퍼마켓은 고객만족 실천결 의대회를 통해 고객을 최우선으로 생 각하고 정성껏 봉사하며, 고객의 기 쁨이 우리의 기쁨임을 명심하여 최고 품질의 제품만을 공급하기 위해 노력 하였습니다.

‘클린캠페인’, ‘향토기업과 함께하는 사 랑나누기’ 등의 사회공헌 활동을 지속 적으로 전개하여 사회가치 실천에 앞 장서고 있습니다. 이러한 성과를 인 정받아 지역주민 협의회(Grandview Area Residents Assc.)와 마캄시(City of Markham)로부터 공로상을 수상하 면서 최고의 사회공헌기업으로 인정받 았습니다. 그리고 토론토의 쏜힐과 욕 밀지역에 새롭게 단장한 갤러리아슈 퍼마켓 두 지점을 개점하였으며 고객 과 더 많은 소통을 위하여 The WITH 매거진을 매월 발간하여 배포하고 있 습니다.

Galleria Supermarket has done various events and works for local communities. Galleria focuses on helping local communities through “Share the love” and cleaning public parks. We have opened the newly decorated branches of the supermarket in Thornhill and York Mills. To elevate our communication with our customers we are now publishing and circulating our supermarket magazine “The With”.

Galleria Supermarket has attended many trade shows and gained media attention through magazines and TV shows.

동종업계 최초로 고객을 위한 다양한 문화행사와 지역단체 재원지원 프로 그램인 ‘사랑의 나무’를 시행하여 한 인 고객뿐만 아니라 비한인고객까지 좋은 반응을 보였습니다. 또한 인터넷 쇼핑몰 운영과 포인트카드(G-Card) 도입 등을 통하여 기존의 한인 마켓 과 차별화된 신개념의 슈퍼마켓으로 위상을 정립합으로써 탁월한 영업성 과를 거두었습니다.

갤러리아슈퍼마켓은 갤러리아 플라자 를 확장하여 개점함으로서 총 면적 약 1,500평 규모를 자랑하며 명실공히 ‘캐 나다 1등 한인슈퍼마켓’으로 성장하였 습니다. 특히 문화센터를 통해 다양한 문화교육 프로그램을 전개하여 지역사 회의 문화발전에 공헌하고 최고의 평생 교육의 장으로 발전하였습니다. 또한 푸드코트 등 22개의 입점업체를 두어 원스탑 쇼핑을 구현하였습니다.

2013-14 GNK 민병훈 사장은 전 임직원이 참석한 가 운데 진행된 비젼선포식에서 “GNK는 ‘최고의 상품이상의 상품’과 ‘최고의 서비스 이상의 서 비스’를 통한 고객만족을 기업가치로”라는 경 영원칙 아래, GNK Vision 2020을 선포하였 습니다. 또한 2020년까지 20개장을 운영함으 로서, 최고의 Global 유통기업으로 성장하기 위한 초석을 다질 것이라 다짐했습니다.

‘윤리경영 중심에 서다’라는 주제로 진행 된 ‘윤리경영 실천서약식’에서 “투명하고 공정한 기업문화 확산으로 고객과 함께 한다”는 민병훈 사장의 기념사에 이어, 윤리 경영 실천 가이드북을 전 직원에게 나눠주며, 윤리경영을 실천하겠다고 서 약하며 다짐했습니다.

캐나다 현지인들에게 우수한 한국상품 과 문화를 접할 기회를 가질 수 있도록 토론토 다운타운지역을 중심으로 갤러 리아 익스프레스를 개점하였습니다. 이 제는 누구나 어딜가나 한국상품을 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있습니다.

In an effort to strive towards a transparent company based on proper business ethics, Galleria CEO Jeffrey Min had the Business Ethics Guidebook distributed to all employees. All those involved pledged to honor this code of ethics.

문화교육경영 Cultural Involvement

문화교육경영은 KFT와 갤러리아슈퍼마켓이 지향하는 가치점의 주요 역할일 뿐 아니라 업종특성과 기업 역량을 고려한 사회공 헌 활동의 핵심입니다. 문화센터에서는 이민자를 위한 영어가 의, 부동산 관련정보, 어린이 교실, 김치&불고기 교실 등 다양한 분야의 강좌를 개설하여 제공하고 있습니다. 문화센터는 캐나 다 한인기업 최대 규모로서 지역사회 문화발전에 기여하고, 평 생교육기관 역활을 수행하여 지역 커뮤니티의 중심 역할을 하 고 있습니다.

Galleria Supermarket holds various types of classes to local community. There are English classes to recent immigrants, real estate market information, cooking classes and etc.

Galleria Supermarket acts as provider of cultural classes as the largest Korean supermarket in Canada.

갤러리아 장학금 갤러리아슈퍼마켓은 매년 장학생을 선발하여 장학금을 지급하 고 있습니다. 장학생 선발은 서류심사, 에세이평가, 심사위원 심사를 거쳐 진행됩니다. 2015년에는 24명의 장학생에게 총 24,000불의 장학금이 지급되었습니다.

Galleria Scholarship Galleria Supermarket will be giving out scholarships every year.

The recipients are decided through three stages of screening which includes application, essay and judging panel evaluation.

In 2015 the Galleria Scholarship Fund gave out $24,000 in scholarships to 24 students.

점포운영 첨단 시스템 계산원없이 고객 스스로 상품을 스캔하여 결제하는 ‘셀프체크아웃(무인계 산대)’을 캐나다 한인기업 최초로 자체 개발하여, 현재 본점에서 운영하고 있습니다. 고객의 계산대 대기시간을 줄일 뿐만 아니라, 무엇보다도 고객 이 구매한 상품이나 개인정보의 노출을 방지할 수 있으므로 고객개인정보 를 보다 안전하게 보호할 수 있습니다. 또한, 계산원의 업무 생산성을 향 상시키는 것은 물론 계산대를 탄력적으로 운영하여 고객이 기다리지 않는 편리한 쇼핑환경을 제공하고 있습니다.

High Technology Equipments Galleria Supermarket has recently developed self-scanner inhouse. It is very first for an ethnic retailer to develop in-house.

Self-scanner was developed to enhance waiting time, line-ups and processing time. Self-scanner also will enhance preserving confidentiality for our customers with their credit card and all personal information.

인재개발 전문능력을 갖추고 지속적으로 학습하는 인재, 고객과 직원을 위 해 끊임없이 가치를 창조하고 실천하는 인재를 선발하여 육성하 고 있습니다. 인재육성을 위한 교육은 정규 직원 , 비정규 직원 등 으로 구분하여 기본적으로 일반, 인성스킬부터 리더십, 관리자스 킬의 고급과정까지 단계별로 시행하고 있습니다.

상호평가 GNK는 상사중심의 평가를 지양하고 다면식 평가를 적용해 공정 성을 기할 수 있는 상호평가를 시행하고 있습니다. 상호평가제도 를 통해 직능, 직종간, 직원간의 갈등 해소와 부족한 점을 보완하 는 것이 주된 목적입니다.

Evaluation GNK in rejection with evaluation by superiors have embraced a multi-faceted approach to employee assessment. The new system sees the company employees equally evaluating each other which will eradicate the problems of a one-sided evaluation by a superior.

직원만족도조사 내부 임직원의 가치관과 직무 만족도에 대한 체계적이고 객관적 인 정보를 수집하여 인사 및 경영정책에 반영하고 기업운영에 참 고하기 위하여, 매년 정기적으로 직원만족도조사를 실시하고 있 습니다. 직원만족도조사는 조사활동 단계와 개선활동 단계로 구분됩니다. 우선 조사활동 단계에서는 내부직원의 회사와 직업에 대한 가치 관 태도에 관한 정보를 수집하기 위하여 회사에 대한 평가, 조직에 대한 신뢰와 존중, 업무 지원, 업무에 대한 흥미도를 조사합니다.

Canada

is a country occupying most of northern North America, extending from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west and northward into the Arctic Ocean. It is the world’s second largest country by total area and shares land borders with the United States to the south and northwest.

The land occupied by Canada was inhabited for millennia by various groups of aboriginal people. Beginning in the late 15th century, British and French expeditions explored, and later settled along, the Atlantic coast.

France ceded nearly all of its colonies in North America in 1763 after the Seven Years’ War. In 1867, with the union of three British North American colonies through Confederation, Canada was formed as a federal dominion of four provinces. This began an accretion of additional provinces and territories and a process of increasing autonomy from the United Kingdom, highlighted by the Statute of Westminster in 1931 and culminating in the Canada Act in 1982, which severed the vestiges of legal dependence on the British parliament.

Toronto is a city where one out of five people are immigrants and also known as the city with highest immigrant concentration ratio. Toronto has more immigrants that cities such as Los Angeles, Miami which are also very well known immigrant concentrated cities in North America.

Canada’s official languages are English and French, however, Chinese, Italian and Punjabi are other mostly spoken languages in Canada.
